Hello everybody! Welcome back to our blog, today's blog post is by Lydia. This blog post is about some of the many things my mum has taught me throughout my childhood and that has helped me through my teenage years. So, let's get on with the blog post... Ps props to tiny Lydia in the picture above!
The first thing I learnt from my mum is to always be myself, its a bit of a self-explanatory, but it is something my mum has taught me. I don't and shouldn't have to pretend to be someone to impress or please other people! I should be myself around everyone, and shouldn't act a certain way for people. I do think that has allowed me to become the person I am today!
Another thing my mum taught me is that everyone worries more about themselves then they do about you. People don't care what you look like as they care more about what they look like themselves. This is kind of similar to being yourself because if you are yourself no one will care because they're too bothered about themselves and what they do, and how they act.
The third thing I have learnt from my mum is that manners cost nothing. This is very true, I find it rude when people don't say please and thank you. I've been taught from a young age to say please and thank you, for example, if someone goes out of their way to hold a door open, or stop to let me through I always say thank you. It annoys me when I hold a door open or stop for someone and they don't say thank you, most of the time I shout 'no problem' once they've walked past.
The fourth and final thing for this blog post that my mum taught me is that life isn't fair. Growing up, I have definitely found this to be true, life isn't fair, but we have to deal with it, there are ups and downs to everything. It is important that we do not let the little things in life let us down. I believe we should carry on as that is what is expected of us!!
So, I think that's the end of this blog post. These are just a few of the things I have learnt from my mum whilst growing up. Even now, I'm still learning new things from my mum, but what's in this blog post are what she's taught me from a young age! Anyway, thank you for reading this blog post, I hope you enjoyed it. What have you learnt from your mum?
