National Adopt A Greyhound Month

National Adopt A Greyhound Month

As you all know its April, but, what you may not know is that its National Adopt A Greyhound Month. We both love greyhounds, as we have 4 greyhounds at home between us, and they are the best pets you can get in my opinion! So, to support national adopt a greyhound month I thought I'd give a few reasons of why greyhounds make such great pets, and to show everyone how amazing they are!

We have done a similar blog post like this in the past if you would also like to read that: Click Here

Amy (Lydia's dog) Sleeping

This is how greyhounds spend most of their time... asleep! People think that greyhounds need a lot of walking and exercise but in fact, two 20 minute walks a day and they are sorted, they think they need a lot of walking because they are racing dogs, but in fact, they love their sleep too much, a lot like me really - hahah! This is Amy, one of my greyhounds, she's gorgeous!

Bosco (Jades dog)

They are supper cute! Theres isn't a greyhound out there that isn't cute! I mean just look at Bosco. Bosco is one of Jade's dogs and whatever they do is adorable, so photogenic too! Because they are so photogenic, you use all the memory on your phone taking pictures of them, even though this may not be a good thing as all your storage goes but its really worth it to capture the cutest of faces!

Onesie with cat Bubbles (Lydia's dog and cat)

Greyhounds can also be great with cats! Some greyhounds aren't as good with cats, but before they are rehomed they are cat tested in a controlled environment to see if they can live with cats. As I have a cat, we had to have ours tested before they came to live with us, but Amy and Onesie are so relaxed they were able to live with cats! As you can see in the picture of Onesie and my cat Bubbles, they are good friends, they will lay together sometimes and it's soooo cute!!

Teddy (Jades dog)

Greyhounds have so much character! I know every dog has their own character, but I've found greyhounds just have a real special character that just makes them cuter. They all have their own quirks and personalities, but all greyhounds I've met and know have been the most gentle and kindest animals ever. In the picture above is Teddy, and how cute is he?!

Adopting Amy our first greyhound was the best decision my family ever made! I couldn't live without a greyhound now, they are just so gentle, loving and cute! Plus, getting Amy was how me and Jade met, so I am so glad we decided to adopt Amy! If you ever want a dog, please think about greyhounds, as they are absolutely beautiful pets to have.
