Today's blog post will be about what I (Jade) bought from the airport. However firstly I actually have a story to tell. It's funny but at the time we could have cried. So we set off 7 hours before our flight. The airport is 2 and a half hours away so we was leaving ourselves with plenty of time, or so we thought.
However it was the day of the air show crash in London, it's a terrible accident of the airplane crashing on the road leaving some roads shut. So that ment loads of cars were diverted to the M25, we were also on the M25. So that ment there was a car build up on the road and we were stuck in traffic. It was alright and acceptable until we was sat on the road for 3 hours! We was getting very nervous that we would miss the flight, it was now 2 hours until the flight. It was funny as the car next to us had a guy in it and I said ' Mum he looks so like Stevie Richie from X Factor' so we all looked over and funnily enough it was him and he waved and smiled.
So back to the traffic jam we looked at our boarding passes and saw that you had to be at the check in desk 30 minutes before the flight and we had an hour left and we was 40 minutes away. We could make it right? Wrong. We started to panic when we had 30 minuets left and we was still stuck on the M25. When we finally got to London Gatwick airport we had 15 minutes left until the flight left the country.
We then encountered a new dilemma. We was parked at the North Terminal and we had to get to the South Terminal. We had to use the shuttle and when we got there is was broken !! Typical. So after waiting for the shuttle to work we soon noticed the flight we was meant to be on would be in the air right now and on its way to Fuerteventura. We went to the desk in the airport and asked when was the nearest flight leaving to Fuerteventura. We got told next Wednesday which was 5 days to wait !! No way! So we rang around and found a flight for the next day at 6:00 am the only trouble was it was at a different airport about an hour away. So we decided to get the train to stanstead.
We got to Gatwick airport train station and purchased the train tickets. When we waited for the London Bridge train to get to the underground we found it was a long wait. When the train finally came we couldn't even get on it because it was jam packed and everyone was jammed on like sardines. So we decided to wait for the next train because not only did we have to get 4 people to get on but also 4 big suitcases as well. We waited for what seemed like ages but was only an hour and to only find out the train we was waiting for had broken down and would be some delays!
When the train finally came it was full but we just rushed on and squeezed up because it was the last train of the day. So we was happily going on the train until the driver comes over the speaker to say " sorry for any inconveniences but we will making a sharp stop at East Croydon and you all have to get off because this train is broken" Really? So we got off at the train station and honestly no offence to anyone living in East Croyden but I felt so unsafe and it absolutely stunk of illegal substances. We got onto the train to London Bridge and it was again packed. We finally made it to the London Bridge underground. When we got to the underground we had to find Liverpool Street.
We got onto the northern line and made it to Liverpool Street with a few tube changes and such. When we was coming out the tube station our tube tickets got rejected and we couldn't get through but the nice man let us through, however my mum had great difficulty at this as she got her suitcase stuck in the barriers. It was funny but by this time my mum was not amused and decided she just wanted to leave it there. We got it back in the end. We then made it to the big train station I want to say it was Kings Cross but I don't think it was. So we looked at the train time for London Stanstead airport. Turns out we only had 2 minutes before departure. So all 4 of us ran like Usain bolt to catch the train. We just made it in time.
After another hour train journey we arrived to London Stanstead Airport. We had a quick toilet break and sat down at the little cafe the airport had and got some dinner at half 11 at night. We then discovered we had to wait 4 and a half hours until we could check in. So after playing numerous games of flappy bird and listening to my music I was bored. As we couldn't go to sleep because we was sat in a cafe that had a sign saying 'No Sleeping Zone' however I did catch them out by putting my hoodie over my head and sleeping but the most I got was half hour. When we checked in I had a marvellous time in the airport duty free. So that's where my blog post takes place!
So the first things I bought was 2 M.A.C lipsticks. As truthfully I literally ran to the M.A.C counter and looked at all the lipsticks. The deep red one us called 'Hot Tahiti' and it's a glaze. This is the perfect autumnal lipstick ever I am completely in love. The other lipstick is the famous Kylie Jenner nude colour and it's 'Velvet Teddy' and it's a Matte shade. It's just perfect and it's great for when you don't want to wear much makeup, also I love matte lipsticks.
The next thing I bought is .... Shock another lipstick. I may have a slight addiction to lipsticks. However the next one is a special one. It's a Yves Saint Laurent or also known as YSL. I absolutely adore the packaging it's just so classy and gorgeous. The shade of the lipstick is number 8 and it's in the ' rouge volupté shine' range. This lipstick has such a good pigment and is clear what colour it is. Very much worth the money.
The next item has to be my favourite I think. I've wanted a Chanel make up product for a while now and one think I'm lacking in my make up collection is a blusher. So it felt right to get a Chanel blusher. The packaging is just so luxurious and it comes in a velvet pouch and urghh it's just amazing. The shade I got was ' 72 Rose Initial' and it's from the 'Joues Contraste' range. It's a powder blusher and I didn't want to get a too dark shade because I have quite rosy cheeks anyway. It's an amazing product and I definitely recommend it if you want a shopping splurge anytime soon.
The last thing I got was the Real Techniques 'Blusher Brush' I got it to go with the rest of my brush collection as they are all Real Techniques. I also got it because I don't own a blush brush and I had just purchased a powdered blusher. It's a lovely brush and it applies the make up on perfect and no brush hairs fall out so that's a bonus.
