Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! Today's post is by Lydia and today we are going to be talking about our prom. Our prom was last Friday (15.07.16). During the day we got our hair, nails and make up done at the hairdressers, I had never been there before but we wanted to get ready together also with Stephanie, so we went there all together and had a right old pampering session.
The first thing we had done was our nails, Stephanie stayed over the night before so she had her nails done earlier but Jade and I had them done together. In the picture above, my nails are the top left corner, I had a nude pink for the main colour with sparkly nail varnish at the top blended in, like an ombré. The bottom right picture is Jades nails, she had grey nails to match her dress with her ring finger a sparkly nail varnish. In the picture they look a pale blue but they were a pale grey, trust me.
The next thing we had done was our make up, I hardly wear make up so it was nice to make an effort by actually wearing make up. As we had it professionally done by beauticians it was much better than what I could do. I wanted to go for a natural look as I didn't want to have too much make up on, Jade wanted the same as we don't like to look of cakey make up. In the picture it looks like I have a black eye, but it was because I had smokey eyeshadow on my lids. Jade has a golden eyeshadow look with minimum blush on it looked really nice.
After our make up and nails we moved on to having our hair done. I had my hair curled into soft curls so they were natural with bits of hair each side of my head loosely pinned back, I didn't want anything too difficult or complicated as I like a simple look. Jade went for light curls with volume/ height at the top and braides going around the volume meeting at the back. The picture is of Jade getting the final touches to her hair.
Once we were finished at the hairdressers and everything was done we went home. Once we got home we did have to wait a little bit as we were done at 3pm and we had to be at Stephanie's by 6:15pm so there was a bit of waiting around. When the time was right we got into our dresses. The picture above is of my dress, I wanted a black dress as that suits me best.
When we got to Stephanie's house we had pictures of us 3 and single photos, we then had pictures with our mothers and then outside the car just before we were ready to leave. We decided to go to prom in a Range Rover because we all like the car and it could fit all 3 of us in. Jade had a simple grey dress that was gorgeous, the only 'bling' was on the waist and it was very simple but so elegent. Stephanie wore a lilac dress that had white lace all over it, it was a Stephanie dress. We all looked great!
Once we got to school we had to climb out of the car in our heels and long dresses and be careful that we didn't fall out of the car. When we were out we had a photographer taking our picture so we could order them later on in the night. After we had our pictures taken out side the car we could go around talking to our families and friends that were there. After everyone had arrived we went into the hall where music was playing, we socialised with friends from school and had pictures with teachers we liked. Near the end of the night we started dancing and enjoying the night. Once prom had finished Jade and I went over to Stephanie's house to have our own after prom party. Overall it was a good night as we saw some friends we hadn't seen since we left school and had a nice time.
Thank you all for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. Prom was really nice as we got to see friends and have a nice time, it was also an end of an era. No more secondary school. Have you had your prom yet? How was it?
Thank you again for reading.
