Life After GCSE'S

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog,

Hi everyone and welcome bac to our blog! We hope you are all doing well. So it is currently April and this time last year (2016) we were both revising for our GCSE'S. Now, if you are not from the UK then let's explain what GCSE'S are. In simple terms, they are a bunch of grades that you get after numerous exams that help determine what you go on to do next in life. Many employers later on in life also check your GCSE grades. So we guess they are quite important.

Anyways, we thought since one of our most read blog posts is Jade's GCSE results so we thought we would check in and let everyone know what we are doing and how we are doing.

So let's start with Jade. Jade is currently at college studying Media Level 3. It has proven to be a challenge and Jade did not realise how many essays were involved. It is more written based rather than practical. However, it isn't all bad as Jade has made some great friends in her class and enjoys hanging out with them. It is a two-year course so Jade will be continuing with Media next year too.

Then Lydia is doing Motor Vehicle Level 1. Lydia is really enjoying the course and she has found a passion for mechanics. Lydia's love for cars has continued to evolve. Lydia has made some great friends in her class and enjoys talking to them. Lydia will continue next year with Motor Vehicle doing Level 2 as she is enjoying it.

Whilst we are both currently attending different colleges and we are enjoying it. We still see each other nearly every week if not every other week and being at different colleges has definitely not jeopardized our friendship. If anything we are closer than we have been before. So if you are currently looking at colleges and 6 forms to go to. Make sure you chose for you and not your friends. As you can still keep in touch with your friends whilst you are different schools.

So to wrap up the blog post we would like to stress something important. Something we have learned since taking our GCSE exams and receiving our results is, that they aren't actually important as your teachers make out they are. At our school, we used to have a year 11 assembly every Monday morning with the head teacher. In that assembly, we used to have a countdown on the wall of how many days we had left until our first GCSE exam. Throughout those assemblies, we used to be preached about doing revision and how our lives would fail if not. During the exam seasons we were both little stress balls.  Making sure we had revised enough and the pressure got to us. We were both relieved when the last exam was over. We both got pretty standard exam results and we were both proud of them. So far the results we recieved has made no effect on our lives yet. At that moment in time you GCSE's seem the most important thing in the world. Honestly, they aren't. If you are currently in year 11 and you are revising for your exams. Sit back and take a breather. Do not get so stressed over them. They aren't the end of the world. So keep to a healthy amount of revision and relax. Good Luck.
