Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog. It's Jade here, I hope you are doing well. It feels good to be writing a blog post, for me, it's a time where I can de-stress and switch off from the world. Anyways, there is something about subscription boxes that make me excited. I think it is the fact that you are receiving presents each month and you don't know what they are. I am all for treating yourself to a monthly subscription. I have been researching for a while on a few beauty boxes as that's what I would like to try first. I read countless blog reviews and finally made my mind up on the Birchbox.
So, the February Birchbox costs £10 plus about £3 for shipping. I personally don't think that is a bad price and being a student I was able to use my UniDays discount code. So all together I paid £7.95. That is a bargain. I received the box in great condition and in a reasonable time too. So I can't fault anything there. Something that I can say though is I was surprised by the size of the box. From looking at the pictures on Birchbox Website I thought the box was going to be bigger. However, this did work in my favour because the box design was so beautiful I just couldn't throw it away so I planned on keeping it. Although with the size I thought it was going to be I was worried where I was going to put it. So when it came I was shocked in a good way at the size. (Such an innuendo).
So the first thing in the box that I was drawn too is a Spectrum brush. It is so pretty and classy, if a makeup brush can be called that. It is the "Marbleous C06 Tulip Eye Brush". This will the answer to all eyeshadow blending! I can not wait to use it. It's just so pretty. I have heard of the spectrum brand before and often dream about owning a set of brushes from their collection. So having this might tip me over the line to actually buy a full set.
The next gift inside the box was an eye shadow trio set. I think this was to go with the brush, so I like that there is a theme throughout the box. The eyeshadow is by POP Beauty and it is the "Bright Up Your Life" eye shadow trio in the shade Champagne Mocha. I really like the middle shade it's a gorgeous dusky pink shade. It is a geat travel size to take in you make up bag as you can slip it in and it won't take much room up. I have used these and I really liked the middle one and the darker shade on the right. I personally found no use for the lighter shade, but it's still quite nice.
On to the next gift, it's a mini version of the Beaver Professional Daily Moisture Conditioning Spray. I have never heard of a conditioning spray so that really intrigued me. It is meant to help hair that is frazzled and knotty. I mean that sums up my hair in two words! So I was super excited to give this product a go. So I washed my hair like normal and once it had semi dried and was just damp I sprayed the mist onto my hair and let it sink in. I can't say it worked straight away but after a few uses I definitely felt a difference and my hair isn't as frizzy. That is a bonus.
The fourth gift was a Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. Now, I have seen this product on social media. Instagram you name it I have seen many people rave about it. I am not one for oils personally and so I have never had the desire to go out and buy it. So this tester pot is a great idea to see what the hype is about and see why so many people like it. You can use this oil either on your face, body or hair. It is a product that you can use everywhere. I have yet to try this product but I have a feeling I will use it on my hands as I suffer from very dry skin on my hands. So it might help them.
The last gift inside the February Birchbox was a KEEOME Hydration Mask Therapy. I again have yet to use this, I plan on having a pamper night very soon. I think I will use this product then. This mask claims to revitalise skin in minutes and help hydrate the skin. I have oily skin so I am worried it will make it oilier so I plan on using this when I have a few days away from everyone just in case it does make my skin more oilier. However, I think it will help me with my dry patches on my face. I guess I have combination skin really. Either way, I will use this mask in the bath one evening for the full recommended 25 minutes.
Well, that is the end of my review on The February Birchbox. I hope you all liked it and you might even treat yourself to a subscription. I personally liked this box and I would not hesitate to buy myself another one. I actually liked that the beauty box that it came in was so pretty and collectable. This month they teamed up with Papier and they created this beautiful design. Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post.
