Our Travel Must Haves

Sunshine, ice creams and cocktails by the beach, it can only mean one thing... holiday time! It's starting to get to that time of year where Instagram is filled with cute inflatables by the pool and awesome holiday pics! There is one thing that we stress about and that's the packing! Getting your suitcase ready is one thing but your travel bag is another. Beside all the important documents such as your flight tickets and passport you're going to need some things to keep you amused all day!

Starting off with a book. This is Jade's priority when travelling because once you're on the plane or even in the airport it's just waiting around! It is best to bring a selection but don't make your bag too heavy! A key tip is to pack a few in your suitcase but your favourite one you are most looking forward too in your travel bag. We currently recommend Five Feet Apart by Mikki Daughtry, Rachael Lippincott, and Tobias Iaconis!

The next item for your travel bag is a snack! You're allowed to bring food into the airport but no liquids which is fine. Our go to snack has to be some sort of chocolate nibbles! Come on food is literally life and the plane prices are extortionate so it's best to be prepared! We recommend these Jaffa Cake nibbles, they're relatively new and oh boy are they yummy!

*Gifted*

The third item we recommend is something that will conquer the 100ml limit in security! The Twist & Spritz is the ultimate handbag essential that allows you to transport your favourite perfume in a travel-sized 8ml atomizer. The first scent we put in was Victoria Secret... and it smells divine! The atomizer is completely travel-friendly as it's in a compact unbreakable bottle. It really helps from the possibility of breaking your favourite perfume bottle! These retail at £12 which is so affordable and they are reusable which is a bonus!

The final item we recommend is podcasts! These are a recent love and we definitely can't recommend them enough! Using Spotify to listen to the podcasts is the easiest we've found, plus if you have spotify premium you can download them for the plane. The podcast we 100% recommend is 'When Life Gives You Melons' it is so good and it discusses so many female topics and it's just so light hearted for travelling.

We hope you've enjoyed this blog post and these tips have helped you when packing your travel bag. We would just like to say a massive thank you to Twist and Spritz for gifting us the atomizer... our travel life has completely changed for the better! Lets just say we're gonna smell oh so fine whilst travelling haha!

Thank You,

Jade and Lydia

Brighton 2017

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! It's Jade & Lydia here. Today we are going to talk about our trip to Brighton. On the 11th May, we both went to Brighton for a few days. We also stayed at Eastbourne. We have both been so excited to visit Brighton. Lydia had been before but it was Jade's first time in Brighton. We decided to be proper tourists and visit all the places that people rave about. Warning there are many photos in this blog post.

When we arrived and checked into our hotel we both decided to explore the beautiful seaside town. We had both heard a lot about the Lanes so we got up our trusted google maps on our phones and followed the directions. Can we just say without google maps on our phones we would have been lost multiple times. We didn't realise how much we relied on that app until we looked back onto the trip.

We absolutely loved all the unique and quriky shops. We also stopped off at a little cafe and had a red velvet cake each and an oreo milkshake. That milkshake was one of the best milkshakes we had ever tasted! After our trip down the lanes, we decided to take a visit to the Brighton Pavillion. We walked around the gardens and admired the stunning architecture.

After the Pavillion, we wondered down to the beach to have a look at the piers. We did plan on going to the big Brighton pier, however, it was boiling and walking across a pebble beach took our energy away. So we sat on the beach for a "10-minute" break which turned into 45-minute break. However, it was so calming and relaxing to just sit by the sea and take in the beautiful scenery.

Sitting on the beach seemed a perfect opportunity to take some flat lays of the photo booth pictures that we took in a little shop down the lanes. Some of the pictures we took were funny. Our faces.

After our time on the beach, we visited the west pier and took a few photos. After that, we were desperate to have a shower so we freshened up and headed out for dinner.

The next morning we woke up early and got ready for the day ahead. We also listened to Radio 1 and heard Harry Styles new album, which may we say is AMAZING. We were greeted with heavy rain, this did not put us off of our adventures around Brighton.

So In the morning, we went for a stroll down the pier. Funny story Jade had her camera with her and took off her lens cap and accidentally dropped it and on the pier, the "floor" is wooden planks with gaps in between them showing the sea. The gaps are tiny like really tiny and could literally fit a lens cap through it. The lens cap hit the gap and bounced off and fell flat on the wooden plan. Luck was well on our side!

We also went and watched the I360 go up, quite amazing really.
We then went around the other part of the lanes and went into Choccywoccydoodah. It was quite expensive but Jade bought a white chocolate rice crispy vanilla fudge chocolate bar and some toffee chocolate bites for her Mum. Lydia bought a triple layer chocolate bar, toffee pieces and chocolate buttons for her parents.

We then decided to treat ourselves more by getting some ice cream. We popped into Boho Gelato. Jade had raspberry and elderflower gelato and Lydia had salted caramel gelato. Both were really nice and we could eat them again and again. Sadly we don't live in Brighton, so we can't.

We then went to 42 juices and we both got a healthy green juice and ginger shot each. All we can say was having our first ginger shot was an experience that we will never experience again. It was absolutely horrible. Burned our throat.

Then we finished the morning off by going to Bills where we had a full English breakfast. We then went shopping in the town and Lydia tried her first bubble tea. We also bought Dum Dum Doughnuts but we spoke about them in our previous blog post. If you would like to read more about them the click here

So that is it. Thank you for reading this blog post hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed the trip away. We also stayed in Eastbourne the night after but didn't take many pictures. We mainly re-lived the Angus Thongs And The Perfect Snogging scenes.

2 Peas In A Pod Blog Q & A

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! We hope you have had a great day. Today's blog post will be a Question & Answer (Q&A). We asked on twitter for some of you guys to tweet us some questions you would like to know the answers of. So without further ado lets get answering your questions!

1. What was your highlight in 2016 in terms of your blog?

Jade: My highlight for our blog has got to be when we reached 10,000 page views. I know it's not about numbers but it felt good to be able to feel like someone is reading our blog. Since then we have hit 30,000 page views, so thank you so much!

Lydia: My highlight of 2016 for our blog is the same as Jade's, I'm just so proud of us for when we hit 10,000 page views. We've come far from when the blog first started. It' also funny to look back just before Christmas and Jade and I said that we would hopefully hit 20,000 page views before the new year and the next week we hit 20,000 page views! And now were on over 30,000! It means so much so thank you so much!

2. How do you manage to have a two-writer blog?

Jade: I really like the idea that we are a joint blog, that way Lydia and I have something to do together. It can be quite difficult to make sure that our blog posts aren't similar and the content we post on our blog is a variety rather than us both having the same or similar blog posts.

Lydia: It's normally fairly easy for us to have the joint blog. Sometimes it does get difficult trying to decide who's going to do what for each blog post. I am glad that the blog is joint as I wouldn't have thought about doing a blog myself, but, I'm really glad that we do it together.

3. What is the best book series you have read?

Jade: This is tough for me as I can only finalise it down to two. Firstly for an easy read, I recommend the ZoĆ« Sugg, Girl Online Trilogy.  It's an easy and relaxing read and I really enjoyed the story line. My other book series favourite is the Twilight books. I read them all so fast, I much preferred the books to the films, I even went on to read other books by the author that were spin-offs from Twilight. I just love them a lot.

Lydia: I never used to read much, but recently I've come across a couple of good books, however they aren't book series'. But, I have to say my favourite book series I have read is probably Malory Towers by Enid Blyton. These have been around a while but my mum used to read them with me so I have fond memories of them.

4. If you had to live out the rest of your days as an animal, what animal would you be and why?

Jade: The animal I would be is, a dog. I would love to be able to say an exotic animal like Zebra or something. However, I would definitely be eaten by a Lion very quickly. So I will be boring and say a Dog, preferably one of my pet dogs as they are looked after and are spoiled rotten!!

Lydia: This is going to be a really boring answer, but, I would probably like to be a cat. The main reason is because cats sleep most of the time and I really love my sleep and love having naps. I would like to be my cat as he is spoiled and always gets hugs and attention!

5. If you could only have one make up item what would it be and why?

Jade: I would say foundation as I have red skin and not very clear skin so the foundation would cover up all the redness and blemishes.

Lydia: I would probably choose concealer, I mainly just use concealer as it does a good job of covering my blemishes.

6. Do you collect anything, if so what do you collect?

Jade: I collect Disney teddies (plush toys). I have so many that I have lost count and I also have no more room to store them. I love them lots though.

Lydia: I don't actually collect anything in particular that I can think of. I mainly just keep and collect little things that I get from family holiday's as memorabilia.

7. What is your favourite Disney film?

Jade: My absolute favourite Disney film has to be Fox And The Hound, makes me cry every time.

Lydia: I would have to say that Lion King is my favourite, although I cry when Mufasa dies. But I just genuinely love the film and love all the songs in it!

8. What was the last film you saw in the cinema?

Jade: I rarely go to the cinema, the last time I went to the cinema it was to watch Me Before You. That was with Lydia and it was sad.

Lydia: The last film I saw in the cinema was La La Land, I saw it on Sunday actually! And it's safe to say that I absolutely love it and I've had the soundtrack on since then! Ryan Gosling is just perfection!

9. Favourite pair of shoes you own?

Jade: My all black converse, I have definitely got my money's worth out of them. I am considering in re-buying some new ones.

Lydia: My favourite shoes are my white trainers, they are basically a cheap version of converse, as I wear them to college everyday I had to invest in a new pair, I love them so much and considering that they are cheap they are actually really comfy and good quality!

10. What are your aims for your blog in 2017?

Jade: My aim for the blog this new year is to advance in our photos on our blog posts.

Lydia: My aim for the blog is the same as Jade's to make my photos and blog post's better, to improve our blog just that bit more.

Well, that is the end of the blog post, we hope you have enjoyed getting to know us better. Thank you to those who tweeted us questions for our Q & A. Hope you have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read our blog, it means a lot. Thank you.
