Bluebird Tea Haul

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Bonjour! Our lovely readers welcome back to our blog! If you are new here then we publish a new blog post every week on a Tuesday at 6 pm! So it's that time again where we talk about our recent purchases. Both of us (Jade & Lydia) are tea fanatics and we love a good cuppa! Not helping the British stereotype but moving on.... we do love a good cuppa. Jade stumbled across the company         'Bluebird Tea Company' on Instagram and it is situated in Brighton.  The Insta pics were all too tempting and we soon found herself browsing their online shop. They have many tempting flavours and they all sound so delicious. The company had an offer on if you spend £35 or more you qualify for free shipping. That was the prompt to purchase a few items. With 50g pouch's mostly costing around £5.50 each, Lydia joined in on purchasing a few tea's. The tea's that Bluebird Tea Company offer is either loose leaf tea or luxury biodegradable tea parcels. After spending £35 . 35 our order was on its way. We both were very excited to receive our box in the post.

Now, enough rambling let's get on with what we bought and our first impressions!!

Jade Bought:

Strawberry Lemonade Luxury Biodegradable Tea Parcels

Fruit Salad 50g Pouch Loose Leaf Tea

Pineapple Sorbet Luxury Biodegradable Tea Parcels

Nearly Nirvana Individual Tea Bag ( Plus 2 Free samples)

Tea Infuser Sacs

Lydia Bought:

Watermelon Splash 50g Pouch Loose Leaf Tea

Strawberry Lemonade Luxury Biodegradable Tea Parcels

Cherry Bakewell 50g Pouch Loose Leaf Tea

We also received Mojitea and Morning Kick as two free samples. After getting over the excitement of receiving the tea it was the challenge of who could brew their tea first.  So here are our preferences Jades favourite way of having a flavoured tea is iced tea and Lydia's preferred way of drinking tea is hot.  So stupidly Jade did not do her research and left the strawberry lemonade tea bag in for 6 mins and drank it with the tea bag in. Have to admit there was no taste to it... So Twitter was calling and after desperately tweeting @Bluebirdteaco on twitter. It was assured that you are meant to brew iced tea's for 4 hours or overnight. So that's what we did. The night soon became day and two iced cubes in and WOW. There was definitely a strong taste of Strawberry lemonade. Very refreshing.

Lydia's first tea was a hot brewed Strawberry Lemonade. It tasted divine and definitely a good one for outdoors in the sunshine, even it is hot. The strawberry flavour was strong and very fruity. Jade also tried it hot and it was quenching and definitely had a kick of flavour. However, it was much preferred it in an iced tea form.

After trying all of our teas that we bought both iced and hot we came to a conclusion that we would definitely buy from Bluebird Tea company again.  Lydia's favourite was definitely the cherry Bakewell tea hot. It smelt like cherry Bakewell and tasted as good as the smell. You could definitely tell it was cherry Bakewell flavour and it's amazing. Recommend this flavour so so much. Least favourite tea that was bought was watermelon splash because it was definitely refreshing and worked well as a iced tea but as Lydia prefers hot tea it wasn't as good. Jade's favourite was the fruit salad both iced and hot. The iced was definitely more refreshing and the hot version was lovley and very sweet and great for a cozy night in. Jade's least favourite was strawberry lemonade as when it was hot it definetly had a kick of flavour that lingered on your tatse buds for a while.

Overall we are very impressed with our order, it came very quickly. A big thank you to the customer team who even wrote a personal message on our order paper in the box. Also they were only too happy to help us on twitter with our iced tea problem. Overall we have to say they are a polite and friendly company and that goes a long way with customers. We will definitely be ordering again especially in the winter time, can't wait to try their winter flavours.

If you would like to browse their website and look at their flavours then here is the link: https://bluebirdteaco.com/uk_en/

Thank you for reading our blog post, we hope you have enjoyed it. If you have tried a tea from the Bluebird Tea Company then please give us your recommendations. Hope you have a good week.

Brighton 2017

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! It's Jade & Lydia here. Today we are going to talk about our trip to Brighton. On the 11th May, we both went to Brighton for a few days. We also stayed at Eastbourne. We have both been so excited to visit Brighton. Lydia had been before but it was Jade's first time in Brighton. We decided to be proper tourists and visit all the places that people rave about. Warning there are many photos in this blog post.

When we arrived and checked into our hotel we both decided to explore the beautiful seaside town. We had both heard a lot about the Lanes so we got up our trusted google maps on our phones and followed the directions. Can we just say without google maps on our phones we would have been lost multiple times. We didn't realise how much we relied on that app until we looked back onto the trip.

We absolutely loved all the unique and quriky shops. We also stopped off at a little cafe and had a red velvet cake each and an oreo milkshake. That milkshake was one of the best milkshakes we had ever tasted! After our trip down the lanes, we decided to take a visit to the Brighton Pavillion. We walked around the gardens and admired the stunning architecture.

After the Pavillion, we wondered down to the beach to have a look at the piers. We did plan on going to the big Brighton pier, however, it was boiling and walking across a pebble beach took our energy away. So we sat on the beach for a "10-minute" break which turned into 45-minute break. However, it was so calming and relaxing to just sit by the sea and take in the beautiful scenery.

Sitting on the beach seemed a perfect opportunity to take some flat lays of the photo booth pictures that we took in a little shop down the lanes. Some of the pictures we took were funny. Our faces.

After our time on the beach, we visited the west pier and took a few photos. After that, we were desperate to have a shower so we freshened up and headed out for dinner.

The next morning we woke up early and got ready for the day ahead. We also listened to Radio 1 and heard Harry Styles new album, which may we say is AMAZING. We were greeted with heavy rain, this did not put us off of our adventures around Brighton.

So In the morning, we went for a stroll down the pier. Funny story Jade had her camera with her and took off her lens cap and accidentally dropped it and on the pier, the "floor" is wooden planks with gaps in between them showing the sea. The gaps are tiny like really tiny and could literally fit a lens cap through it. The lens cap hit the gap and bounced off and fell flat on the wooden plan. Luck was well on our side!

We also went and watched the I360 go up, quite amazing really.
We then went around the other part of the lanes and went into Choccywoccydoodah. It was quite expensive but Jade bought a white chocolate rice crispy vanilla fudge chocolate bar and some toffee chocolate bites for her Mum. Lydia bought a triple layer chocolate bar, toffee pieces and chocolate buttons for her parents.

We then decided to treat ourselves more by getting some ice cream. We popped into Boho Gelato. Jade had raspberry and elderflower gelato and Lydia had salted caramel gelato. Both were really nice and we could eat them again and again. Sadly we don't live in Brighton, so we can't.

We then went to 42 juices and we both got a healthy green juice and ginger shot each. All we can say was having our first ginger shot was an experience that we will never experience again. It was absolutely horrible. Burned our throat.

Then we finished the morning off by going to Bills where we had a full English breakfast. We then went shopping in the town and Lydia tried her first bubble tea. We also bought Dum Dum Doughnuts but we spoke about them in our previous blog post. If you would like to read more about them the click here

So that is it. Thank you for reading this blog post hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed the trip away. We also stayed in Eastbourne the night after but didn't take many pictures. We mainly re-lived the Angus Thongs And The Perfect Snogging scenes.

Birthday Trip To London

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hi everyone and welcome back to our blog, it's Jade here. So 2 weeks ago I celebrated my 17th birthday. I went to our beautiful capital city for 2 nights and 3 days. I really enjoyed my visit.

So when we arrived on Thursday we checked into our hotel room and headed straight down to oxford street where all the shops are. I specifically said I wanted to buy myself a pair of black denim dungarees. Well, I kid you not, I could not find a pair anywhere and every shop I asked either had no clue what I actually meant or they just stocked blue denim dungarees. So my mission for a pair of black denim dungarees was unsuccessful. We continued our shop and I did pick up a few pieces of clothing, but if I am honest I was not that impressed on the clothes out in the shops at the moment.

After the shopping trip, we went to Covent gardens to a beautiful pub and restaurant called Nags Head. It was up high and I was able to look out on all the shoppers and buskers. After many tube trips, we headed back to the hotel and got ready for the evening's events. My nan treated my Mum and me to go see Mama Mia in west end theaters. I can confirm it is amazing. I absolutely enjoyed it the singers and dancers were amazing and put on a fun filled show. After the show, we walked around Covent gardens and listened to some buskers and took in the beautiful city in the night time.

The next day was Friday and we prepared ourselves for the day with a scrumptious breakfast. I topped up my oyster card and off we went on the London Tube. We headed to Regent street and bought a few more pieces of clothes. I also went to Hamleys and purchased an overpriced soft toy. It was £30 for a Kola bear teddy, but worth it haha. We then went to Camden town. We visited the famous Camden market and there were some cute quirky stalls. I also tried bubble tea for the first time. It was amazing, I had strawberry flavour with passion fruit balls. I actually really liked it, I would definitely buy another one.  We then headed to Carnaby street where we stopped off for a drink at an Irish pub. We then did a bit of shopping and looked around liberties.

Sticking with posh shops we then went to Harrods and observed all the expensive items that I could only dream of owning. Outside Harrods was this posh Cafe. We decided to go in. The place was called Caffe Concerto in Knightsbridge. I ordered a strawberry cheesecake and a vanilla milkshake. URGHHH it was so tasty and lovely. Very rich in flavour. That evening we went to china town and ate so much Chinese food. It was good though. We then had a stroll to Leicester Square and we watched a few buskers.

Then Saturday we were ready to leave and caught the train home. I really enjoyed my stay in London and would like to thank my Mum and my Nan for taking me. My favorite part was seeing Mama Mia in the theatre. I would definitely recommend anyone who hasn't watched it go see it.

That's all for me I hope you enjoyed reading about my adventures in London. Sorry about the picture quality it was on my iPhone which is broken. So yeah. Hope you all have a great day. Thank you for reading our blog.

Spooky Halloween Treats

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Evening everyone and welcome back to our blog. It's Jade here. As you can see by today's blog post I will be showing you how to make some super easy Halloween themed treats. It's nearly the 31st of October here in the United Kingdom which means we're super close to Halloween. So I thought it would be a great idea to bake some treats for a Halloween party or even just for yourself.

Ingredients:

45 grams of butter
300 grams of mini marshmallows
180 grams of Rice Krispies
Green Food Colouring
2 bars of chocolate ( any brand is fine, I used Galaxy)
Tube of white icing
A mini bag of white chocolate buttons

Method:

Firstly you will need to melt the butter on a low heat

Then once all the butter has fully melted and there are no more lumps, add the marshmallows into the pan on the heat. Constantly stir them so that they don't burn at the bottom of the pan and stick.

After that take the pan of the heat, immediately add the Rice Krispies. Add as much green colouring as you want, I used a full bottle but it actually didn't turn out as pigmented as I wanted it. So bare that in mind. Stir them well until the mixture leaves the side of the pan.

Then get a 32cm by 23cm tin and line it with baking paper. Then press the mixture firmly into the tin and make sure the top is flat.

Place the tin into the fridge and leave it to set,

Once the mixture has set you will need to cut them into even squares. It depends on how big you want them to be. I cut out 12 so they were a big size to decorate more on but you could cut smaller if you wanted to.

You will need to boil a kettle and once it has boiled pour it into a large glass bowl. Place a slightly smaller bowl inside the bigger bowl and add your chocolate. Keep stirring the chocolate until it has fully melted.

Spread the chocolate onto the top of the Rice Krispie squares and make sure it's even. You then want to add the white chocolate button eyes on before the chocolate fully sets. After the chocolate has set you can use your white icing to draw silly faces on them.

Then they are ready to serve.

In the picture you can see that there are some white ones. They were a last minute idea and all I did for them was make some white icing using icing sugar and water. Then I spread it on the top like I did with the chocolate. Then after it had dried I used a black icing tube to write the word 'Boo!'. I liked these as I thought it separated the chocolate ones apart.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and the recipe has come in useful for you. If you manage to recreate these Halloween treats let us know by sending your pictures to our Twitter which is @2peasinapodblog
Hope you have a lovely week and you enjoy Halloween this Monday coming.

Also we would just like to thank everyone who entered our giveaway. We would like to say a big well done to Alice who won. We used rafflecopter which at the end of the time it randomises all of the entered and picks out one. So it was Alice's lucky day.
