Our Top Tips To Relaxing

Sit back, relax and unwind… it can often be quite difficult to even do one of these things, let alone all three. It is so important that you do take time out of your day for yourself, even if you can only manage 10 minutes then it is certainly worth it. So, we’ve gathered a few tips or activities to do to help you unwind after a busy day.

Captivating, thrilling or romantic, you really can’t beat a page turner when you’re looking for something to do to help you relax. Grab yourself a hot cup of tea or coffee and find a comfy spot whether it be in your garden or your house! Then open up your book and get lost in a fictional world. We’re just about to start reading ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ by Celeste Ng, so many people have recommended this book that we thought we would give it a read.

Can you really beat a lovely hot bubble bath packed with your favourite scented bubbles and a great Lush bath bomb? When you get home from work or college and your feet ache and you think you stink there is really nothing better than running a bath. If you’re feeling a bit tense, stressed or agitated then put on the full works. Bubble bath, bath salts, bath bomb, face mask, scented candles and even a small glass of prosecco. Why not?

Meditating has become more popular over the years and there are so many free ways to help you mediate. A guy on a train going to London once told us that Youtube is full of accounts that offer various length videos for people to meditate. In addition, we quite like the app called ‘Headspace’ they offer really good sleep casts for someone who struggles to get to sleep and also 5 minutes mediation tutorials that you tune in every day to. You can unlock more for additional money but the free version is just as good.

Finally, it’s a walk in the park! Quite literally a relaxing walk is always a great way to get some fresh air and clear your head. We usually walk our dogs and we’re very fortunate to live in the countryside so we walk the well-trodden fields and take in the stunning views. You can opt to hearing the nature and wildlife at its finest or put in your earphones and listen to your go to playlist or a great podcast. Whichever way you prefer, but going on walks isn’t just great for your health but also works wonders for relaxing.

We hope you enjoyed this blog post and our tips and activities to help you unwind work. These are just based off what we love to do so hopefully they will work for you! If you have any more tips then please feel free to leave them in the comments as it would be great to know some more. Staying with the theme of relaxing, we both will be taking a short break from our blog over the course of June to rejuvenate and freshen our minds – we hope to come bouncing back in the summer!

Thank You,

Jade and Lydia

5 Ways To Make Your Room Cosy

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello, Jade here I hope you are all doing well. There is nothing better than coming home from a busy day at college and having some relaxation time in my room.  My room is so cosy and I have tried to make it as homely as possible. As I don't think you can fully relax unless you are in a cosy and calming environment. So, I decided to tell you my top 5 tips on how I make my bedroom cosy.

The first thing I do to turn my room into cosy 101 is turn on my fairy lights. I have 3 sets up in my room and they are all cool-toned (white), I personally prefer the cool toned ones because the warm light ones are too yellow and just do not feel cosy to me. I have them on my bed frame and they are the ones that I turn on the most.

The next thing I do is light some candles. My absolutely favourite scent is spiced apple or any spicy winter scent. I love to light these even in the summer because I just love the scent. The candle I reach to the most to light is my Zoella Christmas one. It is called 'Cosy Christmas', I thought it seemed fitting with the theme of this blog post, I had to include it haha!

My third tip is to pile your bed with cushions. I am such a cushion enthusiast! I do love a soft cushion. My bedroom is grey and white themed and they all match, urghh I love it. Having cushions on your bed just makes it so comfy and cosy I love it.

The next tip kind of ties in with the third tip, it is to have a super soft blanket or throw to snuggle in. I use this soft grey throw from the range and it is so soft, it's unreal. This just makes it so cosy, I am very happy.

My final tip to making your room nice and cosy is to personalise your room. By this I mean hang up sentimental pictures and pictures of memories that make you happy. As when I am happy I feel cosy and warm inside. So, in my room I have my Brighton photobooth pictures with Lydia hung up so I can see them. I love seeing them it reminds me of how happy that trip made me.

That's a wrap! If you do follow my tips I hope you have a cosy evening watching some films or reading a book and really do relax. Thank You for taking the time to read this blog post, thank you very much.

Christmas Evening Routine

Hello, It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello, it is Jade & Lydia here, hope you are all well. Wow, we can't believe it is December and Christmas is just around the corner. We have to say we are very much in the festive mood. Jade went to Winter Wonderland last Sunday and last week we had our annual Christmas sleepover. Also Jade passed her driving test today! Whoop. We then baked them yummy Terry's Chocolate Orange Cookies, if you'd like to read that blog post then click here http://2peasinapodblog2.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/terrys-chocolate-orange-cookies.html#.Wiv-wlKcZE4

Anyways, it's December and the nights turn a lot darker very quick and that is when it is time to get cosy. One way to start this is by turning all the fairy lights on and the Christmas tree on and burn a candle or 2 or maybe 4. Right now in this room, there are 5 Christmas scented candles alight. Whoops!

The next thing on this festive evening is to have a warm bubble bath. Around this time of year, we always tend to use Lush, especially the Christmas range. We have both been loving the 'Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb' it smells so festive omg. The next thing to pair up with is the 'The Magic Of Christmas' bubble wand. This is a spicy scent and the cinnamon stick is so cute. The final one we've been loving is 'Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb' this is a classic Christmas bath bomb. This one is best to save for Christmas eve in our opinion.  During the bath feel free to light some candles and put on a face mask. That is just the best.

After your bath gets into some festive pyjamas. We both do have matching reindeer pyjamas from Primark. We did take a picture of us both together wearing it but for some reason, we cant find it anywhere. Gutted!!

A nice hot chocolate or a cup of tea is well deserved. It would not be a festive blog post without a cup of tea in a festive mug haha! This is a picture of Jade's Christmas mug from Asda and how conveniently it matches her Christmas bedding from Asda also. The other picture is of Lydia's Christmas bedding too, also from Asda. Also, you can see on the bedpost is a festive orange and cinnamon mini garland.... stay tuned to our blog next week to find out how to create your very own.

Once you are all cosied up in festive pyjamas and festive bedding whilst drinking a hot beverage out of a festive mug then it is time to put on a Christmas movie. If you are already not feeling festive then continue to read this blog post haha! So being the Christmas fanatics we are, we just could not refine it down to 1 favourite film. So we narrowed it down to Elf, Love Actually and Miracle On 34th Street. These are all classic Christmas films that everyone and their mum loves. Also note the Christmas bedding as the background.... What is your favourite Christmas film?

Lastly, you need some snacks to eat whilst watching a movie. So here are a couple of favourites we chose to sit down and watch our films with. So first up we have 'Elf Slices' by Mr Kipling as you can see 2 of them have already been eaten... whoops. These are the festive version of the angle slices, these are apple flavoured and omg they taste so good. The other snack we chose is 'Pringles' the plain version, the red plain version is just the best.

So that is how you have a festive Christmas evening. Hope you all enjoyed this blog post and we did not just puke festiveness all over you. Haha! Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post.

The Blogger Recognition Award

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! We hope you are having a wonderful day! Today we are kicking it off with a tag. We rarely do tags over on our blog so it felt right to do one for a change. So a few weeks back we were kindly nominated for 'The Blogger Recognition Award' by the lovely Après Gal (Becca). Thank you so much, Becca, for nominating us we appreciate it so much. We actually met Becca at the blogosphere tea party back in February, she was so friendly. If you would like to check out Becca's blog post on her Blogger Appreciation Award then you can do so here

So with every tag are some rules....

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  2. Write a blog post to show your award
  3. Give a brief history of how your blog started
  4. Give 2 pieces of advice to new bloggers
  5. Select 15 bloggers to nominate the award to
  6. Let the bloggers know they have been nominated and provide them a link to the blog post you created
So going down the list we need to enlighten you lovely readers on how the blog was created. It's funny really as we both got asked this question a few times when we went to the blogosphere tea party event. It actually made us step back and think, how was it created? The story really is not that interesting as it started off with Jade reading blogs. Jade has always had a passion for writing so it felt right to begin a blog. It then came to a catchy blog name. That is when '2 Peas In A Pod Blog' was born. Jade created it but soon realised she would need a partner to make the blog name seem catchy and worthwhile. Jade invited Stephanie but that soon came to an end a few months down the line when Stephanie wasn't enjoying it anymore. That is when Lydia asked to join the blog. From then on we have enjoyed every moment of the blog and we do not regret anything. We really do enjoy writing the blog and the moment we don't is the moment we will take a break.

As there is 2 of us writing this blog post we will give a piece of advice each to new bloggers.

Jade's Advice To New Bloggers:

My advice is to simply have fun. I can not express that enough. The reason why we started this blog was to enjoy ourselves. Truthfully Lydia and I really enjoy ourselves and it has given us a new hobby.  Don't get bummed down by followers and page views. It really isn't all about that, I mean anything is a bonus don't get me wrong but make sure the content you write and publish is because you enjoy writing it and it's not for the followers and the freebies.  I personally think your readers will notice if your writing is full of happiness and joy, make that your unique selling point. More readers would rather read a blog post from the heart rather than the money. So make sure you enjoy your blog, keep working hard at it and all the hard work will pay off.

Lydia's Advice To New Bloggers:

My advice is to write what you want, and believe in yourself. Much as Jade said you have to enjoy writing a blog, and the only way to really do this is to write what you want, write about what you like, make sure that you love and enjoy your blog, as you don't want to be writing blog posts for page views etc as its not what you would want. Also write about what you would like to read, the blog posts that we write are ones that we would like to read if we were reading the blog. It isn't good writing blog posts that you don't like or enjoy.
