Our Top Tips To Relaxing

Sit back, relax and unwind… it can often be quite difficult to even do one of these things, let alone all three. It is so important that you do take time out of your day for yourself, even if you can only manage 10 minutes then it is certainly worth it. So, we’ve gathered a few tips or activities to do to help you unwind after a busy day.

Captivating, thrilling or romantic, you really can’t beat a page turner when you’re looking for something to do to help you relax. Grab yourself a hot cup of tea or coffee and find a comfy spot whether it be in your garden or your house! Then open up your book and get lost in a fictional world. We’re just about to start reading ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ by Celeste Ng, so many people have recommended this book that we thought we would give it a read.

Can you really beat a lovely hot bubble bath packed with your favourite scented bubbles and a great Lush bath bomb? When you get home from work or college and your feet ache and you think you stink there is really nothing better than running a bath. If you’re feeling a bit tense, stressed or agitated then put on the full works. Bubble bath, bath salts, bath bomb, face mask, scented candles and even a small glass of prosecco. Why not?

Meditating has become more popular over the years and there are so many free ways to help you mediate. A guy on a train going to London once told us that Youtube is full of accounts that offer various length videos for people to meditate. In addition, we quite like the app called ‘Headspace’ they offer really good sleep casts for someone who struggles to get to sleep and also 5 minutes mediation tutorials that you tune in every day to. You can unlock more for additional money but the free version is just as good.

Finally, it’s a walk in the park! Quite literally a relaxing walk is always a great way to get some fresh air and clear your head. We usually walk our dogs and we’re very fortunate to live in the countryside so we walk the well-trodden fields and take in the stunning views. You can opt to hearing the nature and wildlife at its finest or put in your earphones and listen to your go to playlist or a great podcast. Whichever way you prefer, but going on walks isn’t just great for your health but also works wonders for relaxing.

We hope you enjoyed this blog post and our tips and activities to help you unwind work. These are just based off what we love to do so hopefully they will work for you! If you have any more tips then please feel free to leave them in the comments as it would be great to know some more. Staying with the theme of relaxing, we both will be taking a short break from our blog over the course of June to rejuvenate and freshen our minds – we hope to come bouncing back in the summer!

Thank You,

Jade and Lydia

How To Survive A Flight

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Good afternoon it is Jade here. In just under 2 weeks I will be going on my summers holiday. This year we have decided to rent a villa in Lanzarote, which will be nice. I have never been to Lanzarote before so it will be nice to experience another canary island. So, I thought to try and keep my holiday spirits up, I would do a blog post about giving tips on how to keep yourself occupied during a flight.

Flying on airplanes can be pretty boring especially if they are long flights. My flight to Lanzarote is 4 hours long so not too bad, but its long enough. I have come up with 5 tips to keep yourself busy on your flight this year.

1. Download Some TV shows on Netflix

I personally do not think you can beat a good tv show. But I would recommend a cozy show that you have watched before. My go to show definitely has to be Gavin and Stacey or any of the Friends series. So, I will definitely be watching either of these on the plane.

2. Bring A Book

I think this is a standard really, especially if you picked it in the makeshift whsmith in the airport. The book that I am bringing on the plane is 'It Only Happens In The Movies' by Holly Bourne. I have heard only good reviews of this book so I am super excited to read this.

3. Get Yourself Some Beauty Sleep

I can definitely say this is better said than done as they say. I know some people find it quite hard to sleep on the plane especially in the cramped spaces you are in. I have fallen asleep a few times and the plane flight has never gone so quickly!! If you can fall asleep on the plane then this is a good choice. Can we all just appreciate my Christmas themed eye mask!!

4. Write A Short Story

I love this point. I am such an imaginative person and you will find lots of half-done short stories that I've written! So, when you have 4 hours to kill its great to write a short story!!

5. Listen To Some Music

This is a pretty generic thing to do on the plane, definitely to try and block out the screaming baby in row 20. My go-to playlist is a mellow indie playlist. Love me a bit of Coldplay and Oasis.

I hope I have been able to provide you with some great tips. I know they are pretty generic but I find reading blog posts like this help me pack my flight bag. So, remember to pack these essentials. I also like to people watch on the plane. Also, a general tip is, buy your food at the airport it is much cheaper than the airplane prices! Thank you for taking the time to read this!

5 Ways To Make Your Room Cosy

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello, Jade here I hope you are all doing well. There is nothing better than coming home from a busy day at college and having some relaxation time in my room.  My room is so cosy and I have tried to make it as homely as possible. As I don't think you can fully relax unless you are in a cosy and calming environment. So, I decided to tell you my top 5 tips on how I make my bedroom cosy.

The first thing I do to turn my room into cosy 101 is turn on my fairy lights. I have 3 sets up in my room and they are all cool-toned (white), I personally prefer the cool toned ones because the warm light ones are too yellow and just do not feel cosy to me. I have them on my bed frame and they are the ones that I turn on the most.

The next thing I do is light some candles. My absolutely favourite scent is spiced apple or any spicy winter scent. I love to light these even in the summer because I just love the scent. The candle I reach to the most to light is my Zoella Christmas one. It is called 'Cosy Christmas', I thought it seemed fitting with the theme of this blog post, I had to include it haha!

My third tip is to pile your bed with cushions. I am such a cushion enthusiast! I do love a soft cushion. My bedroom is grey and white themed and they all match, urghh I love it. Having cushions on your bed just makes it so comfy and cosy I love it.

The next tip kind of ties in with the third tip, it is to have a super soft blanket or throw to snuggle in. I use this soft grey throw from the range and it is so soft, it's unreal. This just makes it so cosy, I am very happy.

My final tip to making your room nice and cosy is to personalise your room. By this I mean hang up sentimental pictures and pictures of memories that make you happy. As when I am happy I feel cosy and warm inside. So, in my room I have my Brighton photobooth pictures with Lydia hung up so I can see them. I love seeing them it reminds me of how happy that trip made me.

That's a wrap! If you do follow my tips I hope you have a cosy evening watching some films or reading a book and really do relax. Thank You for taking the time to read this blog post, thank you very much.

Back To School Advice

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog! Today's blog post is by me, Jade. As I write this blog post it is 27 degrees in England and I am lying on the sun lounger. I guess you could say I'm soaking up what is remaining of summer. As we are soon approaching back to school time which means we are near autumn. (I mean I am not moaning about it being autumn soon). I thought it would be nice for me to give some of you a few tips on going back to school. I will be returning back to college in a weeks time to year 13. I will be doing a top up course on creative media. I have had my fair share of moments at secondary school to be able to give you guys some advice.

So my first tip for going back to school is, do not over do it. By this I mean don't back everything and your cat in your school bag. Although, how cool would it be if we could bring our pets to school.  I remember when I started in year 7 or even started a new year, each time I would pack so much in my bag that it would weigh a ton and hurt my shoulders. Only pack the essentials. Your pencil case your lunch box if you have a packed lunch and your text books. I mean do you really need to bring a makeup bag and hairbrush? I will hold my hands up I packed all this at the beginning of the year even in college. Then by the 5th week in I would literally bring the essentials. So this year I am going to only bring the essentials. I never top up my make up at school, I'm not trying to impress anyone and let's face it, it's not me that's having to see my sweaty gross patchy makeup that has been on my face for 5 hours. So why should I bother?

My next tip is to get good nights sleep the night before the first day. Having said that mostly on the first few days you are being told what you will be learning and getting used to your surroundings. However, it is always good to go in with a fresh mind. I actually always did this the night before the first day of school. As I wanted to be as fresh as a daisy. So I could make a good impression on my new teachers. Although, I can't say I would get an early night every school night. Some times it would hit 1 am in the morning and I would have to try and get sleep in before I would wake up at 6:30 am for school. Not a good idea.

Another tip for going back to school is on the first day when you get your new timetable and you are all excited to see your friends again. It might actually be worth going round and making sure you know where all your classes are going to be for the next year. As you do not want to turn up late to a class for not knowing where it is. As I am typing this all I can think about is how I would get 'Lost' on the way to land based science class. I would tell Lydia in the lunch break I wanna see how long it would take me to get to ELBS.... even though my form room was opposite my ELBS class. I would turn left instead of right and go for a wonder for about 15 mins and turn up late and my excuse was... I got lost. To be fair Mr Horsefield bought it all the time. Even though Lydia would be sat in the corner saving my seat giggling. I look back on what we both got up to in that class and I kind of feel sorry for our teacher. I bet he hated us.

My last tip for going back to school is preparing the night before. I know so boring. However, the way I would look at it is... if I packed my bag for the next day and got my clothes out the night before I got an extra 15 mins asleep in bed. So I was winning in that sense. This helps you be more organised and this way you wont forget to bring something important to school the next day. I swear by this tip.

So, that is enough of me boring you with school talk. Make sure you make the most of that days you have before you go back to school. I feel like this summer holidays has gone by super quick! Also what do you guys think of our new blog design. We are more than happy with it. Thank You for reading this blog post.

8 Ways To Prepare Yourself For The December Rush

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Evening everyone and welcome back to our blog. As you might of guessed already things are starting to get festive here on our blog. Well, not just here! Shops, hotels and YouTube channels are getting so festive it's unreal. Which isn't really that bad as we love Christmas. So we have decided to follow the Christmas trend and get festive. *Que Cheesy Christmas Music*.

As its coming up to December we thought we would give you lovely readers some tips on beating the December Christmas rush. That might be in your home or in the local shopping centre. Can we just take a minute to realise we are nearly at the end of 2016, wow that has gone quick. Anyways lets get back to th blog post.

1. Don't Panic

Now we can probably assume you are reading this blog post because you are panicky about the December rush. Well don't, you can do this. Seriously though, we get stressed out for one day. This year it's your turn to enjoy the festive season and sit back and relax. The biggest tip to achieve that this  Christmas is to do pretty much everything in November. Which this blog post is scheduled at the wrong time as its only 1 day until December, but please look past that. 😂

2. Plan Trips

This is very important as you need to plan shopping trips, family gatherings and the all important Santa's Grotto trip. So it's mich better if you plan these trips in advance. It may seem silly planning at the start of November your trip to see Santa. However this helps a lot as you can avoid double booking. We planned our annual Christmas shopping trip and sleepover way back in October to make sure we had free time. It really helps trust us.

3. Write Present Lists

This point ties in with point 2. It's another form of planning. This point means either planning who you need to get Christmas presents for or who you have got presents for and what you have got them. That helps so you know when your family are opening their presents you haven't missed any presents off!

4. Shop At The Start Of December

We find this tip the most effective. If you shop before December or at the start you still have a good pick of the good presents to buy your friends and family. Also it's less crowded so you can feel more at ease when shopping. We have our annual shopping Christmas trip on the 1st December. If you leave your shopping until Christmas Eve, the rush can be very stressful. However, on the other hand if you shop early and you forget a certain present you have time to go out and buy it.

5. Have A Practice Christmas Dinner

This might sound silly but it helps. If you are that type of person who struggles with timings etc then a practice Christmas dinner might help you. Getting your parsnips roasted in time and baking the piggies and blankets!

6. Plan Your Christmas Outfit

This is a must. Christmas outfit is very key. That might be a sparkly Christmas dress or a novelty Christmas jumper. If you plan your outfit before hand you won't be stressing about it on Christmas Day.  Remember the key thing is to be stress free on Christmas Day, after all it's about having fun.

7. But Double Wrapping Paper

This is a good one. Sometimes you can underestimate the amount of cheesy Christmas wrapping paper that you will need. So it's better to be safe than sorry so buy double the amount of wrapping paper. Also if you make the mistake that Jade did one year you will definitely need extra Christmas wrapping paper. Basically she accidentally picked up happy birthday wrapping paper and no other wrapping paper. It was funny though.

8. Decorating Your Home

This is the most exciting tip. Decorating you home all Christmasy and festive is just the best. It makes you home so cozy. If you get the decorating out the way at the start of December you can enjoy the decorations for longer and have stress free December! Also imagine all the Instagram pictures you can get!

Thank you for reading this blog post and we hope you have taken these tips wisely. We hope you have a great week and soon it's time to tuck into your advent calendars!! Yummy. What advent calendar do you have this year?

Thank You,

Tips for revision

Hello everyone,
It's 2 peas in a pod blog here and this blog will be about the best ways to revise. We all know we all want to get good grades at school but do as little as possible about it. Some of us find it hard toremember  important things, so this blog should help you be organised for exams.
We hope you enjoy it.

1-Create a revision timetable.
Each day try and do a bit of revision,  building up a revision time table is a great way to get organised.

2-Use coloured pens and use highlighters
Your brain is attracted to bright colours. If you highlight your work you have more of a chance of memorising important pieces of information.

3-Do bullet points
You have more of a chance to remeber small points and short pieces of information. Rather than big chucks of text.

4-Don't listen to music
When you're revising We suggest not to listen to music and your brain will focus more on the music than the work. We know it's hard not to listen to music, but it will help.

5-Go in a quiet environment where you will not get distracted
If you find a quite place in your house or where you are revising, you will find it much easier to concentrate on your work no will be able to take in more information.

6-Revise for 30 mins then have a break for 10 mins and then revise again because the brain can only concentrate for 20 mins.

7-Drink plenty of water
Water can keep you hydrated and refreshed. It will help your brain stay active and will keep you concentrated

8-Do not skip meals you need energy to revise.
Energy is important when you revise you need to stay up and active.

9-Try not to stress
It's hard not to stress out but you will be able to remember key facts easier if your mind isn't somewhere else.

10-Get loads of sleep.
Make sure you get your average of 8 hours of sleep a night. You will be fresh and ready to revise some more the next day.

We hope this blog post has given you some great ideas on how to revise. Please don't worry about anything as it will turn out to be ok and if it's not ok then it's not the end of all of your dreadful exams. Try and revise early before the exams and not just before the exam.

Please follow us on bloglovin it would mean LOTS to us, we try and gain our followers everyday. Also if your not please become a member on our blog via blogger. All it is, just your email. We would appreciate it a lot. Thank you.

Please share the pea pod love !
