Jade's 2016 Favourite's

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello, everyone, I hope you are doing well. It's Jade here. Wow, is it that time already? The time where I tell you guys what I loved throughout 2016. Truthfully I am glad to see the back of 2016 and I hope 2017 is much better. So without further ado lets get on to what I loved during 2016.

Also dont forget to come back to our blog this Thursday to check out our first ever blog interview with a blogger. All will be revealred Thursday 12th January.

So first up in 2016, I loved the Urban Decay Naked Pallet 1. I received it for Christmas 2015, so throughout 2016 I always reached for this pallet. I feel like it has a variety of shades and that is why I love it so much. I feel like my blending skills have gotten so much better in the past year. I tend to use the shade 'Naked' on the eye lid then I put 'Sin' on top. Then I put 'toasted' in my creases and blend them in. After that, I usually put 'Virgin' in the inner corners of my eye lids to brighten up my eyes.

My next favourite of 2016 has to be the Real Techniques blending sponges. You may know that I used to be obsessed with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, I would use nothing else but that brush to apply my foundation. Then obviously I got the new Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (which I would never recommend) Here is my review on that foundation if you want to check it out. (just click the word here). Anyways I bought this sponge to test out the foundation. Ever since then I have always used this sponge. It is amazing and helps me apply my foundation a lot more smoother now. Also, I had washed these sponges before I took this picture but where I use the sponge the most the foundation has stained the sponge. Gutted, if any of you know of a way of getting that out then it would be much appreciated.

The next favourite I loved in 2016 is the Yankee Candle Berry Trifle. What a surprise to see a candle appear in my favourites. Anyways, this has to be my favourite I got it for Christmas 2015 and I instantly loved the smell. I sparingly used it as I didn't want it to run out as it's a Christmas edition you can only get it around that time of the year. So for this Christmas I was very happy when I received the biggest version of this candle.

Zoella products in general have been my favourite in 2016. I love all the products I have and I often repurchase. I can not decide if Tutti Frutti or Sweet Inspirations are my favourite range. I love the Soak Opera and I had to buy another one just to take this photo. So everything in this picture is my favourite product from each of the ranges Zoë has released. I was lucky enough to get a pamper hamper for Christmas so I have a fair share of the gingerbread scent. I have to say the gingerbread spray is a little too overpowering for me.

My next favourite is very random but it is the Thorntons Mini Caramel Shortcake Bites. I am an all round lover of caramel. Anything that has caramel on it I love. So when I found these in the supermarket I had to get them. I know they are unhealthy but once and a while a little bite will not mind. They are so rich in flavour and they are very moreish. I have to stop myself from eating the whole packet. Recently I found out they did white chocolate versions of these.  So I got them for Lydia and I to try. All I can say is wow, once myself and Lydia took a bit we instantly looked at each other and said 'Omg'. They were so so nice. I have just realised I have written a whole paragraph on a caramel shortcake bite, I feel like that says a lot about me. HaHa!

The next favourite of 2016 is Blogging. I feel like in 2016 I fell in love with blogging a lot more. I felt like it was an escape from the outside world. There was nothing more I loved than coming home from a stressful day of GCSE revision and opening my laptop to write a blog post. It helped me unwind and I really enjoyed it. It has driven me to want to do more with the blog this year in 2017 and make it better. Lydia is also on board with that so hopefully this year our blog is much more advanced.

This favourite is quite important to me. This is because without my laptop I would not be able to blog or do my college assignments. I have the Macbook Air 13 inch. I love it so much. It is light weight and easy to travel with. As I do media I have access to programs like Adobe Premiere Pro etc. I just love it.

My last but no means least favourite is my Kylie Jenner Lip Kit. I have the Shade Candy K. I love it so much and the lip liner is great I use it all the time. I feel lucky to have one of these and I am glad I bit the bullet and finally bought one.  Candy K suits my skin tone and I reach for it a lot. I personally would not buy another one because of the shipping costs and customs fees. I can't remember exactly how much it cost me in the end but the shipping and customs charges cost more than the lip kit. Don't get me wrong if they were sold here in the UK then I would not hesitate to buy loads more. But throughout 2016 I used my lip kit, I love it.

Well that is a wrap! Thank you so much for taking the time out your day to read this blog post. We really do appreciate all the people reading our blog.  I hope you have enjoyed reading all about my 2016 favourites, What is your 2016 favourite? Also Happy New Year !!!

A Weekend Away In Ireland #2

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! Today's blog post is by Jade so welcome everyone. So if you've been a long term reader of our blog you will know that every year around November time I go for a weekend trip to Ireland. I normally go for the weekend. I did the same this year and I enjoyed it so much that I thought I'd share some pictures with you again like I did last year. I know I say it all the time but honestly Ireland is my favourite place in the whole world. I just love it so much, it's very chilled and relaxed and that is what I love about it. Oh and not to forget the amazing accents.

So we drove down on Friday to stanstead airport and stayed at the hotel next to the airport. This way we don't have to get up super early for check in. We checked in and made our way to the duty free. It was all so tempting seeing all the luxurious perfumes and make up.... Urghh I want them all. However I only took hand held luggage with me so that means I can only take it ms that are under 100ml of liquid. So expensive perfume etc would of been convestcated off of me in Ireland when I was flying back home.

When we boarded the plane in England it was raining so it was nice when we landed in Ireland and it as sunny and warm.

Once we landed in Ireland we got a taxi from the airport and went to our hotel. We stayed at the central exchequer, it was very central indeed. We had the 2 main shopping areas beside the hotel. Please forgive me with the names but I'm going say they were Grafton street and I can't remember the other one but it's over the bridge where penny's is. Anyway we went to O Neil's for our full Irish breakfast and it was very filling. After that we went shopping. We went in loads of shops but funnily enough nothing actually took my fancy and I didn't buy anything.

One thing that I'd like to mention is the Brown Thomas shop's Christmas window displays. Brown Thomas is the Irish version of Harrods in London. All the luxurious brands are available to buy from there. However, the window displays are so Christmasy and so much effort has gone into them I thought it was worth a mention.

So after our tiring walk around Dublin we went to an Irish pub and had a drink. It's very traditional to drink Guinness, so of course my grandad had to have a pint.

In the evening we went for a meal and met up with our Irish friends and family who we haven't seen in a long time. It was so nice to catch up. We had a 3 course mean and it was delicious! After that we went to another pub and drank and chatted. We then got a taxi back to the hotel. Getting a taxi was with great difficulty, we had gone the same weekend that Ireland and Canada played against each other at rugby in the Aviva stadium so all the taxis were booked and the pubs and streets were heaving with rugby fans. I believe that Ireland wood so they were all in high spirits.

When we got back to the hotel we sat in the library bar with a few drinks and chatted with our Irish friends and family. At 3:30 am I decided to call it a night and head to bed I was so tired. In the morning we went down to breakfast and then headed to the airport in the afternoon.

In the airport duty free I bought a new M.A.C lipstick in the shade 'Whirl' and I got some more of my current favourite foundation which is the Estée Lauder double wear foundation in the shade 'Ecru'. We sat next to the Candian rugby team and we got chatting to them. They were lovely lads and I was surprised on how much effort and time they put in. They landed in Ireland on the Saturday and then played rugby in the afternoon at the Aviva stadium and then Sunday morning they were getting a plane back to London which they caught another plane at 2pm to Canada. I can imagine they are all tired after all that traveling, hats off to them!!

After all the excitement I was very exhausted after the weekend and I was ready to crash in my bed and fall asleep. Mind you I did stay up and watch I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, which is really good by the way.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post. I hope you have enjoyed reading about my adventures in Ireland, I know I enjoyed going there. What's your favourite place in the world ? I've mentioned that mine is Ireland so what's yours? Leave your comment down below or tweet us on Twitter. Thanks for all the support and love. Keep on smiling 💖

Gran Canaria 2016

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome back its Jade here today. It's that time of the year where everyone jets out to their holiday destinations, for me it was Gran Canaria. Last week I went to the Canary Islands. I've been before, I've been to Tenerife and Fureventura. So I was really excited to go to Gran Canaria. I went for 10 days so it was quite a long time.

As you can see by the pictures it's just so sunny. When we got off the plane it was 32 degrees. To be truthful that's a little too hot for me. I have very pale skin and I burn easily so I normally sit out of the sun but this year I did sit out in it for a little. The beach was so nice it had golden sand and deep blue sea. I love the beach it's so calming.

One thing that did shock me is that it was a very colourful island. Last year when I went to Fureventura I have to say it was very dull and a lot of dead grass etc. However here in Gran Canaria it was full of beautiful bright flowers. The streets were blooming with facinating colours.

Another thing I loved about my holiday was that at the hotel had a spa. It was gorgeous and all the facilities were free to the hotel guests. You had to pay for treatments and my mum treated me to a massage it was so nice. I genuinely nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed. In the spa there was 2 big heated pools that were about 33 degrees it was like a giant bath. There were some hot tubs. Also they had like jet pools with seats in etc. There was also the "Dead Sea" which was a small pool that had sea salt water in it and I don't know how it did this but as soon as you got in it made you float !! It's incredible and it really helped with sunburn. There was also saunas and ice baths. We spent a lot of time in the spa.

This was the view from our hotel balcony. The pool area etc.

Also every where there was cats. They were all so friendly and urghh so cute!! I don't really like cats but I just wanted to take them all home.

This is a bit weird but I wanted to add it in anyway. On holiday it's essential to keep hydrated so I made sure I had a bottle of water with me all the time. For some reason I became obsessed with this water. It was really fresh I liked it.

Thank you so much for reading this blog post. I really enjoyed my holiday, I didn't want to come home! I hope you enjoy your holiday where ever you are going or you might just be lounging about in bed, don't blame you! Where are you going on holiday this year?!

Dealing With Stress

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello, we hope you're  all doing well. Today we thought we would do more of a chatty blog post. Our aim this year was to put more effort in the blog posts.... It's not going the best so far but hopefully, this all changes around in this blog post. Stress. It's an awful word and it means a lot, many people get stressed out over anything. So we thought we'd be able to help you relax a little more.

We would just like to reiterate that we aren't some sort of expert on stress, we are going to past experience and how we coped with it.

So firstly we would definitely recommend staying away from caffeine which is scientifically proven to calm stress levels down as they are stimulants so they will increase your level of stress. So if we are feeling quite stressed we keep away from the coffee and high in sugar products. Just so we feel more relaxed.

The next tip we have is to catch up on your sleep. You might be feeling stressed because of the lack of sleep your body is taking in. So why not get in your warm fuzzy pyjamas and rest your head. However, you might be getting such little sleep because your mind is elsewhere and that's why your stress levels are increasing. So try and put whatever is bugging you to the back of your mind, we are not trying to tell you to bury your head in the sand but definitely just try and not think about it and get some sleep so you feel a little less stressed. Try to forget about that your body needs 8 hours of sleep, as that will make you worry and you will continually think about that. Also, try to not do mentally demanding work a few hours before you go to sleep as then it will give your brain time to calm down.

Try to relax. We think this is the most important point as it is the key to all of the points to deal with stress. If you tend to get stressed throughout the week then dedicate an evening to yourself. Run yourself a warm bubble bath and relax in the bath with candles. Buy your favourite magazine and have a read of it whilst soaking. Make sure you put on your favourite face mask and just zone out from the world. Make it your time. After that, moisturise and just relax in bed. Make sure you just chill out. Once you are physically relaxed your mind will also switch off.

We've also heard its good to keep a 'Stress Diary'. By keeping a diary you can write down when you felt stressed and why you felt stressed. It will help you become more aware of the situations which cause you to become stressed. So all you really need to do is note the date, time and place of each stressful episode and note what you were doing, who you were with and how you really felt inside.

Our last tip is to learn to say NO. This is a big issue for us, we don't like to feel that we have let someone down so we often feel obliged that we have to say yes. Some people say yes when they know they have so much to do and such little time. Yet we still agree to the additional responsibility however if we learn to say no we would be able to reduce stress levels and it might also develop your self-confidence. We know it can be hard to say no as you want to help but for once put yourself first.

We hope these few tips have helped you and we really hope you take them on board and try some of them out. We are currently under loads of pressure as were in the middle of revision for our GCSE's and we can tell you it is SO stressful especially with all the pressure the school put on you. So we definitely have taken some of these tips on board. Have a lovely day and smile because life is a beautiful thing and we should embrace it.

New Year, New Me

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here!

Hello, it's Lydia here! Today's blog post is about a new me for the new year. Everyone has New Years Resolutions, things they enjoyed from the previous year, things they are looking forward to in the new year and what we would like to work on/do for the whole year.

My New Year Resolutions are to eat healthier, loose weight and get fitter. These are 3 of my main ones, I would like to loose weight... I'm happy with what I look like but I mainly want to loose weight to help with getting fitter and would help me start eating healthier. I need to eat healthier because I normally eat foods that are high in sugar and salt that really aren't good for me but this year I am determined to do it better! I would also like to get fitter because I am REALLY unfit. These all go together so I hope that it would be easier. Another one of my resolutions is to pass all my GCSEs, I am on target for most of my subjects but to keep that and get my predicted grades I need to revise. I struggle with maths but I saw some of the questions that the year below will have to deal with and that has given me more determination to work hard so I can get my C grade.

Last year was a good and bad year for me, I enjoyed majority of 2015 but there were some times where I really struggled, like in everyone's years. The most thing that I liked most about 2015 is that I  got closer to Jade, she knows that I am hopeless, forgetful and lazy but we have got closer. I'm glad that we have got closer because we will be going to different places and I can say that I have enjoyed my last full year (in the same school) with her! She is my best friend, and always will be. I have also liked that fact that when I went to parents evening my teachers where saying that I am a very good student and I will be able to hit my predicted grades if I carry on working at what I am. It's also been a good year for me because I have been surrounded by friends and family that I can talk to anytime I want/need and I know that they are all there for me.

I am looking forward to this year (2016) because I am getting that chance to make new friends and learn new things, this is all when I go to college, I will also get to have a fresh start from mean people at school, even though I won't be with my 2 best friends. I am also looking forward to going to see 5 Seconds Of Summer with Jade, that will be a memorable moment that I will remember for ever, like when we both went to One Direction in 2014.

I also have things that I want to improve for this year. I need to keep on track of blog posts, behind the writing I am useless, literally useless. We won't go into detail about how unless I actually am. I would also like to progress with the blog, like Jade does we both want to carry on with the blog to make it better and continue it for years to come.

I hope that you have enjoyed this blog post, I am determined to achieve my New Years resolutions and improve the blog and also to have a great year that will have lots of new opportunities for me. Thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed.

Please share the pea pod love !

Thank you !!
