L.A.B2 Beauty Sponges Review

Make up is whirlwind of tactics and artistic skills! Many prefer to blend with a brush and others prefer to use sponges. Truthfully we have always been sponge fans just because we feel it adds a smoother coat on top of your skin plus the make up lasts longer throughout the day. So when we received these funky looking sponge applicators through our postbox, we were eager to try them out!

*These items have been gifted and all opinions are our own.

Firstly, we were being introduced to the brand, L.A.B2 (Live and Breath Beauty) to which these applicators are a new generation of sponges and they look really good but they work so well too!

There are 2 beauty sponges in the collection, the "Play it Charcoal" sponge applicator and "Stop and Smell the Roses" sponge applicator. They claim to deliver flawless and streak-free makeup application... so we decided to put it to the test!

Applying the foundation using the 'Play it Charcoal' sponge was very easy, one thing we noticed was how the liquid didn't sink into the sponge straight away like some beauty sponges do. It blended nicely and was streak free.

One thing we love about both sponges are that they are cruelty free which is something we massively believe in!

On the packaging it says for the best results are use the sponges wet. So after using the charcoal one dry we put the 'Stop and Smell the Roses' sponge to the test. We ran them under the tap and squeezed out the excess water and left the sponge damp. This look definitely made it more dewy which personally the both of us prefer matte looks. So overall we do prefer to use them dry however if a dewy finish is what you are after, definitely try them out wet!

The Two Sponges In Detail 

The "Play it Charcoal" sponge applicator is a sponge that keeps your make up feeling fresh, as well as being infused with charcoal which helps to prevent bacteria from spreading, which is absolutely perfect especially if you are prone to acne skin.

"Stop and Smell The Roses" is the second sponge applicator by L.A.B2, this sponge can be used either wet or dry to achieve a flawless and glowing finish. This is a three sided sponge, like the charcoal one and this helps to get into little creases, so it's very handy!

Overall these sponges are worth their retail price of £5.99 they are affordable and offer similar results to most high end beauty sponges. Bewitched Bubble Bar Lush Review

With Halloween lurking around the corner, it only seemed fair to purchase some spooky bath treats! One thing that caught my eye whilst I was browsing the selection in Lush the other day was, this cute cat! This bubble bar is limited edition and has been brought out for Halloween. 

The first thing that drew me to this particular bubble bar was the cute design! I am such a sucker for an animal themed bath bomb or bubble bar! I then smelt it and oh my god! It smelt so good! The spicy woody scents were divine! 

This is what the Lush website says "After a busy day whizzing around on a broomstick, run a bath, crumble this lucky little cat under the water and ground yourself with spicy olibanum. Let superstitions go and allow yourself to be spellbound by uplifting bergamot oil as your twitch your nose and breath in this familiar blackberry scent. Whether in this life or one of the other eight, you'd be a fool to let this pass you by!" - Which I could not agree more. 

When it came to actually using it, I decided to use the whole bar at once! I mean why not? I usually sparingly use my bubble bars but I guess you could say I felt adventurous! The first thing that surprised me was it made the water go jet black. I really liked that, made it dark and mysterious. The amount of bubbles it produced was great as more bubbles the better. 

Once in the water, it was sparkling with subtle glitter bits. I liked that. The bar made my skin moisturised and the bergamot oil was in use! I definitely would recommend this bubble bar to people. If I pass a Lush store again before they go, I will be buying another one! I would rate it a 9/10 !

Design.Me Hair Review

Hello everybody! Welcome back to our blog. How is your day going? Recently we were contacted by 'Sparkle Pr Ltd' to see if we wanted to try out some exciting new hair products! Which then we received a lovely package in the post from the brand 'Design.Me'. The package contained 4 new products all designed to make your hair feel and look 100 times better! We would also like to mention how great it is, that 'Design.Me' products are all cruelty-free! So, naturally, we decided to test these products out as much as we could, to write you lovely readers an honest review!

The first product is 'PowerDry.Me'. Which comes in the gorgeous purple coloured bottle. 'PowerDry.Me', is a hair product that reduces the time it takes to blow-dry your hair. I mean... sold already! We find blowdrying your hair is such a chore!! It is formulated with microemulsions, that coat the hair fibers. As well as reducing the time of blow-drying, it also has UV and heat protection, smooths and conditions hair and controls frizz. This product really does what it says! When we tested it, the drying time was a lot quicker plus had good frizz control. This product retails at £14.00, which we can honestly say it is worth the money and would suit anyone who could buy some extra time in the mornings before work!

The next product is 'Fab.Me'. Which is in this cool mint green bottle, can we just say the packaging for this hair range is super cute!! That is something we were both drawn to! 'Fab.Me', is a hair product that gives you youthful, fabulous hair in a spritz. This spritz is an amazing product, it really does make your hair look youthful and fabulous again. This is also used as a detangling spray, so we tested it out on Lydia's hair and the knots were so easy to brush out, once this was sprayed onto damp hair. This product retails at £18.00, which can be seen on the pricey side, but if you have fine hair that knots ever so easily, then you won't mind treating your hair to this product!

The third product from Design.Me Hair is 'Puff.Me'. Again, in this cute baby pink packaging, 'Puff.Me', is the first ever super-volumising powder spray in a pump! It claims to pep up medium to thick hair. We both have thick hair, so we really put this product to the test. We can also say that the statement is true! We straightened out hair and held it 2-4 inches away from our roots. We then styled it and it added volume! This product retails at £9.95, which again is quite pricey if you aren't used to "splashing out" on haircare products, but we know where there is a great product to start with!

The fourth and final product from Design.Me Hair is 'Puff.Me Light'. This is in the same bottle as the previous product but in white. The 'Puff.Me Light' is a lighter version of 'Puff.Me', a super-volumising powder spray is perfect for fine to medium hair. We have to say this product is so similar to the normal version and also volumises the hair. It claims to make the hair more 'finer'. Which on an honest opinion both products made the hair feel the same, smooth and rich. Whilst we say that we do recommend this product but if there was only 'Puff.Me' left on the shelf and you usually go for 'Puff.Me Light' then you would receive the same effect! This product retails at £9.95.

Betty Box Subscription Review

Hi everyone welcome back to our blog, we hope you are all well. Let's talk all things periods!! There is nothing worse than "the time of the month". You feel so down and tired let alone hungry!! So, as girls we deserve a little pick me up. What's better than a subscription box catered to your period needs, delivered in time straight to your door.  NOTHING, well maybe Harry Styles shirtless...

Anywho, back to period chats. Being a teenager the thought of beginning or being on your period can seem quite daunting. Especially when you are at school and hanging around with your friends. Although, it shouldn't be seen as an intimidating subject. Every woman has their period so we should all embrace it. Bettybox definitely embraces everyone's periods.  They offer a subscription service at the price of £12.99 a month, which for what you receive is definitely worth your money.

The team at Bettybox very kindly sent both a box each to review. So, we thought we would do a blog post about what we received in the May edition of Betty Box.

When we first opened the box we were shocked with how packed it was. We definitely loved the touch of the 'compartments' each box and drawstring bag is labeled. The labels are 'For You', 'For Now', 'For Later' and 'For Night'. Which we think is pretty self-explanatory, but we will discuss each compartment in detail further on in the blog post. 

The above pictures are what we received in the 'For You' box. It was all neatly packed and the items inside were so cute and a little gift for yourself when you are on your period. Which we think is a nice little touch, especially when you're feeling down when you're on your period. 

These were the beauty items we received in our 'For You' box. The face wash was so good and the hair bobbles were a great touch. Nothing like having your hair in a messy bun whilst chilling on the sofa. 

The only difference between both of our boxes was, the trifle cosmetics lipsticks, Jade's was in the shade 'Guilty Pug' and Lydia's shade was in 'Racoon'. Which is quite nice to get a variety within the boxes. Also, Lydia's box had a 'Coconut' tea bag and Jade's was 'Coconut & Cranberry'. 

Then the other items were more of a lifestyle gift. So, imagine sitting on the sofa messy bun, cup of tea with the coconut snacks... pure bliss. 

This section we both really liked. It was well thought out as it was packed with 5 night time pads, which is what we both swear by for nighttime. 

The 'For Later' box, we assumed was for the evening. You know, that in-between stage when you have come home from school and your waiting for dinner etc. We can't stress enough how important it is to stay clear down there, at least 4 - 5 times a day, preferably more especially for heavier flows. In this box we received 14 tampons and 3 day time pads. Such a generous amount we both commented on that.

Then finally, the adorable drawstring pouch in the 'For Now' compartment was filled with tampons and smaller pads. We received 7 tampons and 6 small pads. The smaller pads are ideal for the beginning and end of your period, when the flow is light. Ideally, 3 at the beginning and 3 at the end. The pouch is such a good idea, a great way to hide your tampons etc in your school bag. No one would suspect anything so you can take away the embarrassment of your tampons and pads falling out in the middle of the lesson. Genius. 

That's a wrap! All in all, we believe the Bettybox is definitely worth £12.99. Especially because it is a little treat for you when you are feeling hormonal and down. Book Review - Eleanor & Park

Hello everybody! Welcome back to our blog. Today's blog post is by Lydia and by the title it is a book review. The book I will be reviewing is Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.

Recently I have been really getting into reading again, and was looking for more books to read. Jade let me borrow a couple of books to read that she really liked. The first book that I read from the selection was Eleanor & Park. This is one of Jade's favourite books, she loves it so much she wanted me to read it, so I did. It's safe to say it is such a good book, like honestly a great book.

The storyline is about two sixteen-year-olds, Eleanor who has curly red hair, and wears men's clothes who recently moved to Omaha, Nebraska (where the book is set) and feels like an outsider as she is new. Then there is Park an Asian American who although he's lived on Omaha all his life feels like an outsider too. Eleanor and Park meet on the bus when no one lets Eleanor sit down, Park is forced to let her sit next to him. Then after riding on the bus with each other they gradually become friends.

If you haven't read this book before, I seriously recommend it. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. Rainbow Rowell did a great job at writing this book, because like Jade it's now one of my favourite books. Its such a feelgood book that makes you smile and that is something I quite like. The romance is subtle and the style of writing is second to none, it is definitely worth a read.

Pusheen Plush Toy Review

Hello, everyone! How are you all today, we hope you're having a good day. Today's blog post is as you can tell by the title a review, the review is on a Pusheen plush toy. So, we got an email from a lovely woman called Anne-Marie who works with GUND - America's most prestigious soft toy company - on a campaign to promote Pusheen. We are sure that you have heard of Pusheen before! 

If you are unaware of Pusheen, she is a domestic short-haired grey tabby cat. With over 9 million Facebook likes, Pusheen is the star of her own extremely successful animated web comic series made to look like a self-run blog. The plush range from GUND features Pusheen in a variety of poses colours and costumes. Like actual cats, the plush toys manage to be funny, weird and lovable adorable at the same time.

The new Pusheen toys include; Pusheen munching through a bag of potato chips, enjoying a sushi roll, and snacking on a slice of pizza.

The Pusheen is so cute, the whole body is a soft fabric that you can rub against your face. The pizza slice is a cotton type of material and is a great asset to the character! The facial features are embroidered on beautifully and the cotton whiskers that stick out adds a quirky touch to the soft toy. The hair lines between the ears are just way too cute to handle! The two stripes on the back resemble Pusheens markings and are so soft. The tail is super cute and makes the soft toy really resemble Pusheen.

Pusheen is a beautiful and cute plush toy, it is perfect for children, it advertises for 1+ years so would be suitable for any child of that age, especially if they love cats!

We both love the Pusheen teddy, it's just too cute! We love the pizza slice with it, and we love how cute it is! We definitely recommend you buy this for a loved one who is obsessed with Pusheen or cats in general! Or why not treat yourself?

Aussie Miracle Shine Shampoo Review

Hello everybody today's blog post is a review. We will be reviewing the Aussie Miracle Shine shampoo and telling you our thoughts. We thought that we would try a new shampoo. We've heard from many bloggers that Aussie is a good brand to use, so we thought why not give it a go. 

Lydia had never actually tried the brand Aussie before as she usually sticks to L'oreal but was willing to give this brand a go. Jade had previously used the brand and liked it but preferred using the one from her hair dressers, which is Paul Mitchell. Lydia needed a new shampoo so Jade persuaded her to get a shampoo from Aussie as she knew that they were a good brand.

So Lydia got the shampoo that Jade recommend. We both have used the shampoo now and it makes our hair feel so soft after it's been washed, unlike the shampoos that Lydia was using before it leaves your hair feeling so smooth, soft and shiny. It also keeps your hair soft for a long time unlike some other shampoos that Lydia was using. However we would say a little goes a long way. If you use too much it can make you hair go ultra greasy, but that's the same with every shampoo. 

Now both of us have tried the brand we can both recommend it to people. Although Aussie have a lot of different shampoos and conditioners, we have both tried the miracle shine and both agree that it is a good brand. Lydia thinks that it's one of the best shampoos that she has tried as it really cleans her hair and makes it feel soft and smooth.

You can find it online and in most stores that sell shampoo. It's definitely worth trying if you are on the lookout for a new shampoo to try out.

A Passion For Natural Aloe Vera Review

Today's blog post is a review. We were very kindly sent these two full-size Aloe Vera Gel bottles, how generous of them. Thank You!  They are from a company called A Passion For Natural and instantly we were hooked because we like natural products. We have never heard of this brand before so we're really excited to try out their products and give an honest opinion. The brand use 100% natural ingredients so that's a bonus. 

So we tested out the Aloe Vera Gel. This is for people who have dry skin, irritated skin and sunburn. What we liked the most is that it was unscented and SLS free which you can almost guarantee it is suitable for sensitive skin and you can use it without having a little reminder at the back of your mind that it could be more of an irritant to your skin. 

We firstly applied it to our hands which are our most dry area. We were very surprised on how quickly it absorbed into the skin. It didn't leave an oily finish but made our hands nice and dry (in a good way) after using it on our hands throughout the day we found that our hands were incredibly softer. It really hydrated the skin and soothed them.

All you need to do is apply the gel in the area of the skin where you feel it is the most dehydrated and need an intense hydration therapy. Gently massage it in and watch it rapidly absorb into your skin. For sunburns and extra cooling, we would recommend placing it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect. 

This bottle is £6.95 which is an incredible value. We think the product is definitely worth that amount as it really does hydrate your skin. We can't wait until the summer as we are prone to getting sunburn so we know this will help smooth the pain. It also can be used to reduce wrinkles as its developed with natural Betaine to support skin elasticity. 

The packaging is very professional and a consumer would feel like they are buying a product that has been developed by a brand that has done their research. 

Would we buy this product from the shelf?

Yes,we would because we know that the results of using this product are good. The brand sell other products around Aloe Vera, so make sure to check them out too.

Hello, today it's Lydia writing this blog post. Today's blog post is about my favourite product, a product that I have used and run out of that i will be reviewing.

This product is a shampo that I have finished, this shampoo is very good, it makes you hair feel soft after I have used it. It is a nice shampoo that is one of my favourite once, I like it but I don't think it is the best one that I've had. Herbal Essences is a good company to buy from, I would buy this product again as it makes your hair soft and clean, it is a lovely smelling shampoo that smells of raspberries. I would recommend this product if you want to have a new change with your shampoo, you should get this. You can get this at any supermarket or a beauty store.

Shoot For The Stars: Review

Today's blog post will be a review of a Lush product. This bath bomb is called 'Shoot For The Stars' . On the label it says 'Paint the swirling colours of the night sky in your tub with this multicolored Bath Bomb. Drop it in your bath and watch as it shoots every which way, releasing multiple colors before leaving behind a blazing trail of silver luster.' 

The bath bomb smelt of sweet drizzling honey. The whole bathroom was engnited with bursts of honey scents. Which also lingered on your skin after the bath. 

It made the water throth up and had little stars that let out nourishment to the skin. Also inside,it was full of glitter and made the bath feel so cozy and warm. The bath bomb really resembles Van Goghs 'Starry Night'. Which is a good idea from Lush. 

This product is one to recommend to anyone who loves Lush. The smell and the beuty it has to your bath is just awesome. Sadly this product only comes out around Christmas time so when it's time you need to get your hands on this bath bomb.
