Catfish And The Bottlemen Concert

Catfish and the Bottlemen

On Tuesday, we went to a Catfish and the Bottlemen concert in Nottingham. Jade has wanted to see these for ages and they finally released a tour, so, I went with her so she had someone to go with, plus I do like most of their music. So, I thought that I would document the concert here in a blog post. (Sorry for bad picture quality)

Twin Atlantic

Like all concerts the main act had a supporting act. Catfish and the Bottlemens support act were a group called Twin Atlantic, I feel like I've heard the name, but I didn't know any of the songs that they did. They were quite good, not the best band but definitely weren't the worst - hahah!

Catfish and the Bottlemen

Then Catfish and the Bottlemen came on, they came out to their latest song called Longshot. I have to say they were very good, even just in their first song, they sang it so well!

Catfish and the Bottlemen

This concert was like the Arctic Monkeys concert, as Catfish and the Bottlemen are a similar band to them. So, the crowd was similar to the crowd at Arctic Monkeys, only smaller, obviously being a smaller venue-haha!

Catfish and the Bottlemen

They sang most of the songs from their first album including Twice, 7 and Cocoon. They nailed them all! They are a great band to see live, they sound just like they do in their album - if not better!

Catfish and the Bottlemen

They also sang the new songs that they have released recently. Although, I didn't know all the songs, I still had a really good night and they are an amazing band too see live as they are just so good!

We had a really good night, apart from having to call the AA out for Jades car, but, whenever we go to a concert something always doesn't quite go to plan-hahah! But, if you ever have the chance to see these live, I seriously recommend you do, they were brilliant!

Thank You,

Lydia

5SOS Concert

One of our favourite things to do is going to concerts, and what better way to share our love of them then by telling you about our latest concert! Some of you may know that for my 18th birthday, Jade got me tickets to see 5 Seconds Of Summer. Jade completely surprised me with them, we had 'tried' for tickets, but unfortunately Jade said we didn't get any. Then on my birthday (8th August) I opened up to see we had tickets to 5SOS!! (the BEST surprise ever!)

So, the concert was last night, Monday 29th October 2018. It was amazing, they were brilliant again. Ive seen them before in 2016 and they were really good and since then I wanted to see them again, so when Jade was trying for tickets, and she made me think we hadn't got them, I was really disappointed. So, I was very excited when I opened them on my birthday!

The picture above is the support band. The support band to 5SOS were called Lovely The Band, neither of us had heard of these before but they weren't too bad really.

The first song they came out to was Babylon. I love this song, and it was great live!

They also sang classics of theirs including She's Kinda Hot, Amnesia, Jet Black Heart and She Looks So Perfect. So, it wasn't all from their new album, although I do love their new album!

They were absolutely fantastic again. They sang perfectly and had such good stage presence!

I love all of their music, especially their new album! But I was glad they sang other songs from their past albums. They absolutely nailed 'Amnesia' it was so perfect to hear it live again!

They ended the show with a bow to the crowd. I absolutely loved seeing them live again, it was amazing!

5 Seconds Of Summer where amazing to see live again! I'm so glad we could see them. Thank you so much Jade for the best surprise birthday present! I absolutely loved it!! What is your favourite 5SOS song?

Thank You,

Lydia

Arctic Monkeys Concert

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here!

Hello everybody, welcome back to our blog. Today's blog post is by Lydia. Last Wednesday Jade and I went to see Arctic Monkeys live. The concert was amazing and a real experience. We were really lucky with getting tickets, they sold out really quickly but we managed to get tickets! Although neither of us are huge fans of their new album, we really love their older albums which is why we really wanted to see them. So, without further ado lets get into this blog post. Sorry in advance for the bad quality of pictures they are taken on a phone camera.

Like all concerts the main acts have support acts, and the Arctic Monkeys had a band called 'The Lemon Twigs' we had never heard of them before we saw the Arctic Monkeys. We weren't massive fans of The Lemon Twigs but everyone has different music tastes.

Obviously after the support act, Arctic Monkeys came on.

They sang a few songs from their new album, but they did a lot from their older albums. Although their new album is good, the crowd enjoyed the songs from the past albums.

There was such a great atmosphere at the concert, it was a lot different from the past concerts Jade and I have been to together as it was more of a varied crowd. We are used to going to One Direction and 5SOS concerts so it's a bit different, but was a really good experience!

They sung a lot of great songs including, Knee Socks, Brainstorm, I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, Four out of Five, R U Mine? and others of their songs.

So, I think thats the end of this blog post. Thank you for reading. I really enjoyed seeing the Arctic Monkeys, it was an experience I will never forget. Thank you again for reading, I really hope you enjoyed reading!

Niall Horan Concert

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Welcome back to our blog, it's Jade here. Today's blog post is an exciting one, I'm talking about all things Niall. On Thursday 15th March Lydia and I went to see him live in Manchester. We were super excited.

We were a bit worried because we have never stood at a concert before and after seeing Harry live we knew the crowd was reckless and many were collapsing due to crushing in the crowd. So, you could say we were a bit skeptical.

During the day we did a bit of shopping and many girls had camped out for 24 hours at the doors to get a good view. We ended up queuing from 6pm until the doors opening at 7pm. We got our merch and headed into the venue and decided to stick to the side because it was easier for us to get out if we got crushed or anything. We ended up being 10 rows from the front! We had such a good view it was so lucky.

The standing situation was quite crammed and a girl did collapse right behind us. However, nothing too bad for us to handle.

Niall was so good live and really engaged with the crowd. Plus he is so good on the guitar it is unreal. The support act was Julia Michaels, at first we did not know who she was but in fact we both knew 90% of her songs! Really good live.

I really enjoyed when Niall sang 'Slow Hands' because he came closer to the crowd and was dancing and singing, loved it so much!

It was also amazing when Niall sang 'Drag Me Down' because the whole crowd sang along and I nearly lost my voice.

My absolute favourite part of the whole concert was when Niall sang 'Flicker'. It is one of my favourite songs from the album so I enjoyed the song. Niall asked the crowd to put all their phones away and actually just sing to the song. I have nothing wrong with people filming and taking photos at a concert but don't film the whole concert. I was actually annoyed by how many people lived on their phones at the concert. I took a few photos which all are on this blog post and my friend asked for a sound from the concert. I sent a 20-second clip on snapchat to him. Other than that I just lived for the moment in the concert. The whole time during 'Flicker' everyone sung and it was beautiful. I really enjoyed it.

Thank You for taking the time to read the blog post and I hope you enjoyed reading it. I would definitely recommend anyone to go see Niall in concert, worth all your money.

How To Prepare For A Concert

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog,

Welcome back to our blog! We are super excited, in a few days we are both off to go see Niall Horan in Manchester! We are so excited especially having seen Harry Styles a few months back. If you have read our blog before you know we like to go to concerts!! So, because we have been to a few we thought we would do a guide on how to prepare yourself for a concert.

Our first tip would be to book the day off work or school. To us, this is crucial because we live out in the middle of nowhere, which means we have to travel to go to our concerts. We are approximately 3 hours away from Manchester so it is worthwhile we take the day off so we have enough time to get there. It also means we can do a bit of shopping and go out for a meal. We both like to make a day of it.

The next tip intertwined with the first tip, making sure you have your travel arrangements sorted out. This is key to plan a few weeks before especially if you are booking train tickets.  Luckily, we are driving up to the venue so we do not have to plan too much. But we do need to leave in plenty of time to ensure traffic will not bog us down.

The next tip is a bit of a boring one but sensible in the fact is make sure you have enough money on you. This is to make sure you can afford to buy something to eat and drink and buy some merchandise at the venue! Obviously, the merch is the most important part, haha!

The next one is an obvious one but it has happened to Jade before, make sure you bring your tickets with you.  Else you will definitely not be getting in the venue! Also, a pro tip, do not buy tickets from any other ticket store except the ones provided by the artist.

The final tip to prepare yourself for a concert is your outfit! This is essential, one does not simply chuck on any outfit! NO WAY! You need to consider.. will you be hot in the venue and suitable footwear. This is the first time we are standing at a concert so we will need to wear comfy shoes and consider if we want to wear a jacket or not. It will be super hot and crowded although we need a pocket to put our phones in.... decisions decisions.

That is it for our blog post this week! Hope you have enjoyed reading it and take on our tips for preparing yourself for a concert. Be sure to come back next week to see out Niall Horan Concert Review!

Harry Styles Live 2017

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

It's Jade & Lydia here and today we are going to be telling you lovely readers all bout last night! So last night being 30th October 2017 we went to London Eventim Apollo to see Harry Styles live in concert. Eeeeekkk. We also met Alfie Deyes and Mark Ferris! Sadly, we did not get a picture with them as they refused to take photos because it could get too busy but we got to talk to them briefly. We have a picture of the back of their heads they were about 5 rows in front of us.

The last time we saw Harry live was in One Direction. We absoloultey love the self-titled album 'Harry Styles'. Kiwi and From The Dining Room Table are our absolutley faves.

Again the pictures really aren't the best we spent most of our time singing and dancing and didn't take many pictures. Then the ones we took weren't that good and quite blurry. So apologies for that.

Absolutely loved when Harry performed Kiwi and someone actually threw a kiwi on stage and he slipped on it. We have to say we all chuckled. After the crowd begging for Harry to sing kiwi again he delivered us our wishes and sung it for the second time.

Throughout the whole concert, Harry was so appreciative of the fans and constantly thanked them and complimented us!! He is such a nice person and he stays by his motto 'Treat People With Kindness' so true. We were a bit gutted by the merchandise stall. We liked the tour top with the tour dates on but the biggest they had in all of the stalls in the place was medium and we like our tour tops baggy as we wear them as pajama tops. So we had to get a top with Harry in the pink bath. Jade also really loved the pink sweater with Harry written on it but it was £55. So much money.

Overall, we both absolutely loved the concert and we really enjoyed ourselves. We would recommend you go see Harry Styles in concert if you get the chance. Also, can we just comment on Harry's lime green sparkly suit with flowers. Wow just wow!! Thank You for taking the time to read our blog, it means so much to us.

Seeing Robbie Williams Live

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hi everyone it is Jade here! As you guys know I am a concert fanatic and I absolutely love going to see artists live in concert! So far this year I have seen 3 people live so this was my 4th concert this year. I'm not a massive Robbie Williams fan myself but my mum is! My mum hasn't missed a tour of Robbie Williams. I have heard a few of his songs and I love a good concert so I didn't mind accompanying my mum at the concert.

My photos aren't the best I can't say we had the best seats !!

The tour was the heavy entertainment show and the album cover is of Robbie Williams in a boxing ring. The screens on the stage were shaped of Robbie which was cool.

He sat in a giant boxing glove and it extended him high above the crowd on a crane. That was cool.

Robbie picked a woman out the crowd and sung 'I love you' which made it funny as they put a singing mask on the woman and when he passed the mic to her instead of her singing it, it was a funny voice. After that, he hugged her and had a mini chat with her. Not to mention a selfie!

Another guest was invited on the stage and it was his Dad! It was so cute they sung 'Sweet Caroline' together, it was clear that Robbie looks up to his dad.

Something that got me was when Robbie Williams did a speech about previous events that have gone on in the UK. Such as the Manchester bombing, and the two London attacks. In the Manchester One Love concert, Robbie changed his strong song but adapted it to Manchester and made it that we aren't gonna miss out on fun such as concerts because of terrorists. So he strong song and had the words up and everyone sang it to show that wasn't going to let that get to us.

After that, he sang his most famous song 'Angels' and dedicated it to all those who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attacks. Many in the crowd were in tears and remembered those who lost their lives.

Overall my time at the Queen Elizabeth park in Stratford London was great I actually enjoyed the Robbie Williams concert! Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post! I hope you have had a great day!

Seeing Olly Murs Live 2017

Hello It's 2 Peas In A Pod Blog Here,

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! It is Jade here. As you can see by the title I went to see Olly Murs live in concert. On the 13th March 2017 I traveled down to Nottingham to see Olly Murs live in concert. It was so amazing. I have seen Olly live before at Nottingham on his last tour and I just had to see him again this tour. Firstly when I arrived at the arena I went to the merch stall to buy myself a tour top. I bought the black edition. We then got our drinks and were taken to our seats. I was actually blown away with how close I was to the stage. My mum and I were 6 rows back from the front! So exciting.

As Olly came on stage the crowd were up on their feet and singing and screaming in excitement. Olly first sang 'You Don't Know Love', which I have to say is one of my favourite songs of his. That and 24 hours.

This was Olly Murs after he sang the first song 'You Don't Know Love'. As you can see the photos are not the best as I took them on my iphone.

Throughout the concert, Olly would just have a chat with the crowd. Olly is very cheeky chappy and talked about his past girlfriend a lot which the crowd booed at. I thought that was a bit harsh but Olly just laughed.

One thing that I did pick up on and I did when a saw him live a few years back is that he is a very passionate singer and puts 100% into performing and creating the best concert for the fans.

Overall I really enjoyed the concert and I would definitely see him live again. In fact I am seeing him live again on his summer tour in 2017. So that should be fun. I doubt I will do another blog post on it as it will be very similar to this one. Olly thanked his fans and his band and exited with 'Years & Years'.

Thank You for taking the time to read this blog post. I had a great time at the concert and I wanted to share my experience with you. Have you been to seen Olly Murs before? And what is your favourite Olly Murs song? Thank you once again and I hope you have a great week, I am off to London to celebrate my birthday so that should be fun! Keep smiling!
